First and foremost, Hollow Kingdom is hilariously funny and full of cuss words, which I had no problem with; but others might. It’s also somewhat irreverent and even melancholy at times and yet it still ended on a hopeful note...at least for the animal race, not so much for the human race, though. What turns the human race into zombie-like beings, I don’t really know to tell you the truth. Something to do with our need to be connected at all times...maybe? Things that make you go hmmm…
I wanted to give it 5 stars but It did make me super sad a couple of times and it might have felt a little stretched out length-wise, plus the ending was hella crazy...like I’m not sure what even fully went down kind of crazy. Overall, I totally recommend this, it’s got this special kind of quality that makes it unlike any other zombie story out there. Also, the narration is top-notch, Robert Petkoff knocked it out of the park with this one.
Tom Bombadil is that adult married friend, who will have your back in need as he knows what's what, and has his shit together- while still being super chill, but then you can't get them to go anywhere too far because the spouse be waitin. 🤣
