REPOST: Turns out, the tracks didn’t export properly, and the last upload only had Samara’s poem. This is the proper version. *headdesk*
perahn answered your question “Writer’s block is still kicking my arse (sorry giveaway winners…), but...”
Well... if any of my poems (tagged 'poetry' on my tumblr, so original) take your fancy, I'd be hugely flattered... alternatively, you could give me a prompt and I could try to compose something for you?
@perahn, I hope I’ve done these justice.
A villanelle for Samara (suicide tw)
Mark 8:36
Lyrium lost
Samara’s poem was an easy choice: she’s one of my favorites, and I have a giant weakness for villanelles. I always love the way they feel when read, the repeated lines weaving in and out. Anders’s poem sort of flowed on from this: both characters, so different in so many ways, are all white-hot anger and idealism, and I loved the use of dialogue in Mark 8:36. Blurred lines cleanly told: fire and death and future hell blending with Anders’s ‘serenity’ and sublimation.
Plus, I got to see @onemooncircles art again.
As I say in the recording, I picked Lyrium lost for last because you said once that, out of all your pieces, this was the one you imagined being read aloud. And I am weak in the face of gorgeous compound imagery and alliteration. You do incredible things with hyphens,
(I really shouldn’t try to talk about poetry at 1am).
Sorry about the cats, too! They woke up and started chasing each other in noisy circles right as I was recording Anders’s piece. Seems almost as appropriate as it was annoying.
Narrator needs to get his shit together 😂😂😂😂😂👏 #fail #audiofail #ogmentated #waytogo
Sometimes the Audiopheil characters can get... a little out of hand. Especially Nita!
