Day 8/100: “It’s a Loud, Loud World” Note: I wrote this blurb and painted this piece when I was feeling overwhelmed a few weeks ago. I’m in a better mental space now and able to process things more clearly. Just didn’t want to cause unnecessary concern. During this time, at least in my own experience, things are as loud as ever even during social distancing. As someone who is easily affected by information overload, it has been truly difficult to have space for meaningful contemplation. I’m getting input from every direction, but I don’t have the mental or emotional capacity to process that input. The waves of voices demand urgency and action, but together, they are so over modulated that I want to shut them off. If and when I speak, am I also contributing to this looming, over modulated waveform of shouts and demands? Or am I allowing for room tone? Side note: I screamed into my microphone in order to create the audio waveforms I referenced for this piece, so the irony of all of this is not lost on me. . . . #albumart #audiowaveforms #waveform #loud #noise #informationoverload #iswearitried #artformusic #pantone2001 #pittsburghillustrators https://www.instagram.com/p/CARYH6GDR8z/?igshid=1m7zvpq4l3kq6
