ok but @audreycardwell had just the best idea and hmu abt a deaf west r+h cinderella and god i’m so in i’ve been thinking about it all morning. it needs to happen.
deaf ella and HoH topher
the waltz scene, the music adapting to them, to their thoughts and their feelings, while the rest of the ball goes just too fast, or just not following it all
deaf ella signing through my own little corner. you just have the music and her signing and you focus on her face and her dreams, hearing a voice from afar, some echo from those thoughts she’s having. the voice stops after ‘i forgot to bring my gun’ and you can only rely on the signing and ella’s expressions there. there’s a voice in her dreams but it dies with her fears.
sandra mae frank as ella is very necessary ?
topher ! who is ! hard of hearing ! speaks very little, ramble-signs a lot. i just ! people thinking he’s a tool because it’s even much easier for sebastian to twist his words and thoughts behind his back, leaving him more power bc sebastian is supposed to understand them all when he’s still learning
me who am i with all the guards admiring topher, aloud, but not signing it. him not having a clue he’s so admired. him being so confused and out there because he just doesn’t have a clue he’s admired by /his own damn men/
‘ a kid who’s voice is way off key but loves to sing a song ’ l e t him have his music it'S IN HIS HEART
charlotte and madame not bothering with sign language. gabrielle does
tbh. HoH jean michel. still very much here 2 speak out against the bullshit, and sign against it too
o h man i’m so into this
sebastian forcing topher to use his voice even when he’s very very fucking uncomfortable with it
marie ! m a r i e ! marie as ‘crazy marie’ who spoke, but does not in her fairy godmother form. yet it’s in that form she accomplishes miracles. crazy marie who spoke as a human, and jumbled, messy signs, the kind that were like a person trying, really, but not knowing. godmother marie signing and signing well and her voice, nobody really knows where her music comes from, it seems to be everywhere, to take so many form, to be so many different voices ( fairy marie with effects and so many voices around the theatre )
there is music in you. her voice comes from the damn back of the theatre, so far away from ella, and all the focus on stage is on her hands, on their faces, on poor ella too. it’s chilling, and you don’t need to hear it to feel the beat of a heart, of wishes.
everyone’s fave fox playing interpreter for ella at the ball, so surprised he got a voice in that human form of his, but still. letting her go when she finds topher, bc, oh, well, together they can just fkcing sign.
we all k n ow what topher and ella’s sign names would be. we. know.
deaf west rodgers and hammerstein cinderella, hello, get it to me right now.
happy birthday my love ! this doesn’t look at good as i wish it did. my words will probably be more messy than i wish they were now. i’m not a person with many friends, which, well, you know, but i couldn’t be happier to be able to call you one of them. i’ve known you for quite over a year now, even if it’s been a lil’ less since we really started talking, rambling, etc. and each time you’ve made my life brighter. each time you’ve made me wish i could just be closer to you to just - give you a damn great big hug. these past twenty years - you’ve been, i can say that for sure, a wonderful addition to the cluster that this messy planet sometimes is. someone so very worth getting to know. someone so full of kindness. i don’t really know how to express just how much you mean to me, a shame for a self-proclaimed writer, but i know that knowing you has changed me for the better, in salt, angst, ridiculous aus, late night talks and other livestreams, at each moment we shared, through screens, but it still is just as real. now, i hope you have the most wonderful day, here’s to the twenty years that went by, to the twenty to come, and the twenty after that, etc. to all those days you’ll fill with sunshine for me, and i’m so sure, others. i hope i’ll still be a part of your life in these twenty and twenty more years, though hopefully i’ll give you a real damn gift instead of making shitty gifsets. and a real damn hug. these words don’t seem like enough, but know i mean each of them, and more. yours, with a damn lot of love, lottie. @audreycardwell
