Auditioning Is So Much More Than What You Might Think It Is (Sarah Kathryn Makl)
During every performance of What The Constitution Means To Me, playwright Heidi Schreck welcomes a young woman to the stage to engage in a live debate with her. In preparation for our 2018/19 season, New York Theatre Workshop welcomed high school students and debaters from all over New York City to audition for this opportunity.
One of the young auditioners, Sarah Kathryn Makl, thoughtfully chronicled her experience auditioning for the role in her blog. In the post, Sarah Kathryn writes about her own relationship to the Constitution, and reflects on whether we should keep the document or start fresh with a new one.
