A.U.F.O.

A.U.F.O., ovvero a gratisSE (come si dice in Firenze). Niente a che vedere con strani dischi nei cieli! Quando si costruivano opere, come le cattedrali, i materiali impiegati erano senza dazio, questo perchè si trattava di un'opera pubblica di cui beneficiava tutta la comunità e spesso era già estremamente onerosa di per se. Senza contare che c'era la Chiesa di mezzo. Per poter trasportare questi materiali dalle sedi di estrazione, in quelle di lavorazione e poi all'impiego in cantiere si apponevano dei cartelli sui carri e sui barrocci che riportavano frasi latine del tipo: "ad usum fabricae" cioè per essere utilizzato nella fabbrica. In particolare a Firenze, nella costruzione del Duomo venivano usati cartelli con la scritta latina: "Ad usum Florentinae Operae", cioè per uso delle opere fiorentine ed era abbreviato con l'acronimo A.U.F.O. Questo cartello era presente su ogni carro diretto in cantiere ed esposto anche sulla porta dei depositi siti nei pressi della Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore. Difficile dire come entrò nel gergo fiorentino la locuzione "A UFO" per indicare a sbafo , gratuitamente, senza pagare. Potrebbe essere dovuto al fatto che la presenza del cartello sui trasporti era diventato come un salvacondotto e i carichi non venivano nemmeno più controllati dalle sentinelle ai caselli del dazio, quindi nella fantasia popolare erano come gratuiti. Oppure, più malignamente, dall'uso dei trasportatori di mescolare fra i materiali destinati alla costruzione del Duomo altri materiali poi venduti al mercato nero a costi ridotti. " Come t'hai 'vuto quel fasciame e quelle 'orde a 'sto prezzo?" ed il mercante guardandosi circospetto in giro e abbassando la voce "A UFO!" Ancora più malignamente potevano esserci vendite illecite di qualche capomastro che faceva uscire materiali dai depositi dell'Opera del Duomo e quindi chi si approfittava acquistando i laterizi li aveva presi, letteralmente, A UFO. Fatto sta che a Firenze e poi progressivamente nel mondo A UFO significa che si ottiene qualcosa gratuitamente. Le espressioni " mangiare A UFO" o "viaggiare A UFO" o ancora "dormire A UFO" sono usate ancora oggi, parole tanto care agli scrocconi!

Considering this being my first #armour... I'm a bit impressed with myself xD Kinda wasn't sure if I would make it, but here it is: My first picture from Aufo! We've been working real hard on our #viera cosplays from #finalfantasyxii and we plan on finishing this Saturday for the 2. Augsburger Fotowalk (#aufo), hope you guys like it so far :) Still lots of priming and painting to do as well as a bit of sewing, but we're gonna do our best!
