Random facts that kind of hurt me: August never really recovers from losing Chase. He stops adopting kids after Chase dies and has no interest in dating either. He puts his focus on their kids, on making sure they're okay, but he never really recovers from that loss.

Sam, the shifter that turned August, is actually still alive! It wasn’t a random attack, he picked August out on purpose. He had followed August from Hoboken the night he had run, intending on  turning him the first chance he got. But August tried to bolt when he heard Sam growl and then he fought, causing Sam to do more damage than he had intended to. When the sound of gunshots filled the air, he had run, assuming it was hunters. He was right, technically, but they had been hunting deer, not him.

Sam had known August’s mother and been bitten shortly before she died. They had been friends since school and he had tried to get her to leave her husband and she might have had she not died. He left for years after her passing and did not know how badly August was being abused.

When he came back to Hoboken and found the kid, he had become a little obsessed.

August was actually named after Sam, but stopped going by his legal name when he ran away. Sam does not know this. He has been trying to find August for years.

where do you hold your love?

in your teeth

love has uneven edges but it is something you sink your teeth into. with love you give all of yourself over and feel everything as it happens- good and bad. for you love can be a fight, whether it's hard won or hard lost (or hard to hold on to), love has a way of leaving it's impression in your skin. it's not that it hurts, it's just that it knows your tender spots and seems to hit those first.

a lover, a dreamer. you see the world thought pink tinted glasses, don't you? romanticizing little things, picking flowers on your way home, buying colorful stationery and glittery pens to decorate your journal with. you remind me of myself, honestly; we're such hopeless romantics, and even if our hearts get shattered on the floor, they keep on beating- doesn't that make us braver than any soldier? i think we are, friend. it's okay to want a fairytale, to daydream of all those nice things that make butterflies fly their way up to your throat. i'm with you. you remind me of rose lemonade and soft, lilac bedsheets.
