When you hear the word “auger” you probably picture a handheld one, unless you’re familiar with the mechanical variety due to your work or some particular interest in heavy machinery. Handheld augers can be either self powered, or powered by electric or internal combustion engines. They are smaller than industrial auger systems (which are mechanical rather than handheld). As a result, they are more lightweight, and by extension, more portable.
