Two coins bouncing down a hall,
caught in the eye of a blackbird,
desaturated, misshapen.
The bird tilts his head up,
staring at a wooden staff,
stretches his wings
and hops towards a doorway.
The blackbird takes flight
and I awaken
in a cold sweat.

Augery request
Today I saw two actual ravens* and a great-tailed grackle. All in the same day.
What omen is this? Accepting wrong answers only.
*I promise they weren’t crows** even though the two of them were sort of in the same location***
**don’t @ me I took ornithology okay, I know ravens are rural and alone and look like maybe they need a shower and tried to fake it with dry shampoo
***one raven was on a fence post and the other one was a bit away standing on the ground. The grackle was walking around outside an Arby’s
There is a reason augury is a thing.
Augury is the practice from ancient Roman religion of interpreting omens from the observed flight of birds (aves). When the individual, known as the augur, interpreted these signs, it is referred to as "taking the auspices". 'Auspices' is from the Latin auspicium and auspex, literally "one who looks at birds."

wide as the horizon,
blending with the ground;
fuzzy; in the distance,
Clouds.
Each step a heartbeat closer,
closing distance

listening to the blackbirds song.
“Soon my love, we are waiting
on the good wind.”
As a beautiful trans dyke with new powers, it is morally imperative that I get really sadistic.
