this scene was BRUTAL. the way he just sat there, taking it in, not wanting to say anything to break up the moment or give himself away. this is what he could have had. this is the life he would have had.

they were able to talk about and share their love so easily. they weren't toxic about it; they were just acting like a regular family. and that's something he never really got to experience

at his core, chris is just someone who wants to be liked, and he just had to sit there knowing that it took a whole different universe to make it possible for his dad to give that to him.

I do not care that Vigilante killed Blue Dragon.

That's it.

He might not have been a nazi but that doesn't make him a good person. He lived in a mansion in a town where everyone else was a nazi. He did nothing to help the oppressed minorities and he raised his son to be nazsi. He could have joined the Sons he had the suit which already makes him more powerful than Vigilante.

Also he never loved Chris as much as he loved Keith.

So Adrian did nothing wrong.

james gunn has to know what he’s doing with the comparisons to real world events and dcu events. he’s just pandering to the major networking by claiming “oh boravia and jarhanpur aren’t based off israel and Palestine” and “auggie 2 is a good guy” when the actual subtext is sooo obvious.

and also him saying auggie 2 is a genuinely good guy when he is literally directly benefiting from the system is the most obvious pander ever. auggie is a terrible person and is NOT A GOOD GUY.

auggie is so clearly playing into his white privilege because there is no benefit to him if he fought against the system like the sons of liberty. it felt like he was trying to make 11th street kids + friend go away so they don’t mess with his perfect society. he

AND the fact that vigilante 2 was so quick to kill him shows that he not only participates in the messed up system but is also very much complicit. vig 2 is shown to be incredibly smart, i would say more than og vig, and he didn’t even hesitate to kill him. auggie’s claim to not have the power to fight back is bullshit when he is fully equipped with advanced tech that no one else has and gunned down an entire squad of police.

The fact that Vigilante is essentially the same person in Earth-X demonstrates that it's *not* a mirror universe. Rather it's a demonstration of how the same characters would turn out in a different setting.

Auggie is a far more affable person because there's no reason to be a bitter hate-filled loser when society views him as a winner. And in turn, he'd be more effective at indoctrinating Chris and Keith.

Harcourt would have grown up accustomed to be feminine, and she's probably not put into as many situations to harden her.

Adrian's dad didn't stop being gay but is closeted.

In contrast, considering Adrian's... approach to life, it's absolutely unsurprising that the ideology wouldn't stick; the way his parents are clearly unhappy probably influence that.
