It was a big day for the bees! 1: Fuzzy Wuzzy Buzzy land had been invaded by yellowjackets last week and had their numbers down, so hive beetles took up residence. Luckily they had just started hatching, so I doused the comb in acetone to kill everything on it. Don't worry I didn't put it back in the hive. 2: Fuzzy Wuzzy Buzzy land is still present in the hive, as shown by Alberta Strong walking about the frames. She only has about 800-1200 bees at her command though due to yellowjacket raiding. I'm probably going to put them in a super-limited single-frame observation hive just to keep empty space down over the winter. Not sure what I can do though as they are super small. 3: Her Majesty Jones is seen walking about some very ugly honeycomb in Augmenta. This is good because I originally thought that I didn't get their queen. They are building their comb in an intertwined and bendy way, so it is hard to manage. I also found Her Majesty Alexandria, but she is a bit camera shy so I didn't get a picture of her. That makes two for two on queens and colonies, so I'm very happy. 4: Lloveara is doing absolutely amazingly. They are filling up their last empty frames with beautiful new honeycomb, and quickly filling it with honey. The photo just doesn't do it justice to how pretty it was. A beautiful golden glisten with the perfect new yellow comb. So good.
