This is Butter. She was kicked out of Lloveara because something took a chunk out of one of her wings and she can't fly. She is very clumsy and fell many times while I tried to take these pictures. I gave her some diluted honey and water then put her outside again. In the second pic she is literally falling through my blue basil plant and I find that very funny. Xp
Snug as several thousand bugs in a rug
I sat the less pristine comb from Lloveara aside just to see what would become of it, and sure enough when I looked today there were a bunch of little wiggly wormy hive beetle larva on it. So that's that I guess.
See that dot? Right in the middle? That is the best dot you can see on a hive. It means the bees are nice and cozy and warm inside! X3 (it's the feeder hole under the lid)
Lloveara seems to have found some pollen source that Florin hasn't yet because they are coming back with twice the amount of pollen. I'm so happy for them though because this means LOTS OF BABY BEEEEEEEEEES!! X3
Bees pulling out scraps of paper towel from inside the hive. They are very proficient cleaners and don't like any unnessecary obstructions in the hive. In the process of tearing apart the paper, they are making fuzzy edges where hive beetle legs get stuck and they starve.
Ants are stealing from Lloveara again... Gosh these little buggers are relentless. Probably because the coffee/cinnamon barrier that was around it is gone now from the rains. I'll have to start making more coffee again..
