August 4, 2011:
Woke up at exactly 9:11am.
Mac & cheese for breakfast while my sister and I watched Wizards of Waverly Place.
Showered and got ready around 11:30am.
Finished by 12:31pm and walked straight to Hanalie's house.
Watched Heartstrings with her, Jobelle, and Amber, and ate ice cream cake until 2:30pm.
Took the bus to the mall because Jobelle and Amber never take the bus in the Bay. Got in trouble by the driver for talking too loud, lol.
Stopped by UO. Got in trouble again because Hanalie took a picture of me.
New Apple store. One of the workers wanted to be in our picture, hah.
Tried on clothes at Cotton On for the heck of it.
Claire's, Spencers, Hot Topic, Boarders X. The usual shit. Hah.
Went to XXI last and ridiculously looked around for clothes and tried them on. Found 2/4 things that I actually liked. Ugh.
Chilled on the sofa in the ladies' restroom in the Americana because we were tired.
Walked Hanalie & her cousins to In-n-Out to get picked up. Then walked back to Barnes and Noble to wait for my mom.
Read the 1st page of The Hunger Games while I waited, omg.
Potato Corner with my mom while waiting for my dad. THEY RAN OUT OF CHEDDAR TODAY. WHAT THE HELL.
Watched Sergio Mendes perform live because my parents wanted to. My feet were killing me the whole time.
I think I saw @danielleudarbe, but I was too busy zoning out on the way to the parking lot. Sorry!
Now I'm home and my feet are killing me. I liked my outfit today though. K.
The Black and White Project: Day 130: August 4, 2011
I was extremely busy at the day job -- so busy that I figured that I'd do any work on the Black and White Project after work. After all, I figured that I'd have to make a run down to Union Square to get a couple of things and possibly catch the Union Square Partnership and the New York Press' collaborative efforts at presenting live local music in the park. Of course, what I love about Union Square is that I never see the same thing twice . . .
Can you get any more spring and summer in New York than Mister Softee ice cream trucks? I would say no!
After running an errand near the park, I entered the park to catch the Shondes play as part of the Summer in the Square series when I encountered this sign on the ground. The woman who was behind the photo project was so sweet that I happily helped her out with her project.
I caught a few minutes of this Senegalese kora player. What I will say is that the kora produces some incredibly complex tones -- it sort of drones and sort of sounds like a guitar simultaneously.
