Sleeping next to him means first somehow managing to drag him into bed. August is a creative soul, and if an idea gets into his head, he won’t sleep until he’s finished what he started. No amount of coaxing, threatening, or promises of “just five more minutes” works. After countless attempts, you give up and fall asleep alone.

Later, deep in the night, that blond fury finally shows up in the bedroom. He immediately pulls you into his arms and kisses your forehead. Though he holds you only until he falls asleep himself, because neither in the real world nor in the realm of Morpheus is August capable of staying still for long.

You’ve long since gotten used to and accepted the unspoken nightly “war” over your side of the blanket, and the less-than-graceful morning wake-ups. And every time you look at him, you spend half the day wondering how it’s even possible to sleep in such a position and still look completely satisfied.
