I have lived a quarter of my life and yet I am still so young. Still just beginning. Though I am starting to appreciate what I once only suspected: that I will always be young. That I will always be beginning. That people don't grow up, they just grow old.
Journal Entry, 08/26/2021
August 26, 2021; 1:49pm
I am still reconciling with the ignorances of youth. Particularly of not knowing when to speak my mind and when to stay silent. I am living as a pendulum, swinging between passive and gobby, and I need to find an in-between.
But I was not raised to be loud. Not born a man. Not made to have an opinion. And so throughout the years, I became louder to spite my womanhood. To spite Christianity and patriarchy and heteronormativity and all the other forces that worked to keep me silent. And that opinionated righteousness became an addition — because every word feels like an act of defiance.
And yet I do not want to be argumentative or stubborn. I do not want to speak so loudly that I cannot listen to others or even myself. The next chapter of my life will hopefully hold a balance between the two.
Until then, I will be honest. Even uncomfortably so. I will be ready to come to my own defense but remain kind and curious otherwise.
Other ignorances of youth I am releasing are those of beauty and vanity. I am learning that everyone has their own beauty. That kindness is beauty. That vanity now will only make life’s inevitable of aging harder to accept later. That if bravery is not the absence of fear, but taking action anyways, then confidence is not the absence of insecurities, but taking pride anyways. That people — that I — am just as worth and deserving of those I compare myself to. And that we are all just a few blinks of the eye away from loose and crinkled skin.
And I am so grateful:
1. For wisdom and insight.
2. For lessons disguised and hardships.
3. For autonomy, choice, and opinion.
All will be well.

The Date That Links It All: August 26th
October 10/14/2020 Being drawn to getting past the pain of losing a sister like Aaliyah Dana Haughton has been a mission to say the least.
Trying to find out why her passing was never settling, we embarked on YouTube channel connecting the pervasive word she sang about...that word is KNOW. From Let Me Know... to I Wanna Know in Resolution. There was just so many coincidences about her death in her own projects, such as the 2000 film Romeo Must Die, Her real life death announcement was revealed by Jet Li’s character, Romeo/Han Sin. scroll down to see screen shots from zamgoods’ channel over the years on YouTube highlighting 8/26.
2016 was a year prophesized in Romeo Must Die when the Super Bowl basically took place in the same area as the movie and is the new stadium the movie is about. Spoiler alerts ahead. But there is an important theme to this movie relating to no black owners in the NFL and Colin by name as Aaliyah’s brother who says he wants to “run with the show” and “Magic is going to happen, it’s going to be scary” in his final live scene. Listen 8/26 is the day Colin Kapernick first sat during the American Anthem during a game.
The year Beyonce donned Black Pantheresque afros and berets at the Super Bowl 50 to celebrate 50 anniversary of BPP for Self Defense and wore a garter belt on her leg like Aaliyah did in her album release spot in 2001.
Notice that Keke Palmer also has the garter in the middle of this shot and was called “Mini Aaliyah” in an MTV article. There is so much to say about Keke relating to Aaliyah, her Romeo Must Die role as Trish O’Day, and Kamala Harris. But one mind-blowing that is her birthday is 8/26!
In trying to figure out who is behind all of these amazing coincidences and the relevance of 2020, Covid-19 and 19 years since Aaliyah’s death, and 19 years since World Trade Center Event. And 8/19 being the UN World Humanitarian Day.
What is it about...The Number 19. A startling realization is with the Mail in Vote controversy. President Trump is at arms with this option for the presidential election on November 3rd. I hear Male in Voting. The Gender issue. And it so happens that this year is the 100th year Anniversary of the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote in America. Memorialized on Women’s Equality Day of guess what date?......August 26th. OMG
Other women have run for president and vice president in the past, but this year points to Kamala Harris possibly succeeding to take her seat as LOTUS. The question is, will she actually get to sit down in her seat in 2021. Some strange Magic is about to happen, like Colin said, it’s going to be scary. While smoking his now legalized green cigarette.
damn sobered up for the first time in the past four days and now i want to cry so bad. i wont though. also i need to go drive and talk to people now which will probably make it worse
