Training ride from last Sunday @gulfcoastchris Sherpa extraordinaire capturing our 2.5 hour bike ride on our #triplebricksunday. Training for #ryanman703 and @jenncov111 training for #augusta703 🏊🏻🚴🏃💪🏼
Back from Christmas vacation and hitting the off season training hard with some treadmill hills. Starting to work on my personal 2016 goals today: lose 10 lbs, eat cleaner more consistently, get back into shape (turns out this road is longer than predicted), finish 2 70.3 mile triathlons, be happy and healthy. I think most importantly I want to inspire more women, especially new moms, to get more active any maybe give triathlon a Tri! #teamsoulsports #soulsquad #triathlete #eagleman703 #augusta703 #halfironmantraining #newmom
Solo 70 mi ride today after the rain cleared. No breaks! Ironman Augusta ready! Fueled with Hammer Perpeteum and an Energy Bar. #howihammer #triathlontraining #teamzootse #swimbikerun #blacktriathlete #augusta703 (at Silver Comet Trail)
Day before race
One more sleep before race day! Alarms are set for 4:30am and the team is ready to go. The day before the race is reserved for practice run, ride and stretching. Many races do not let you jump in the water before the race which is why we focus mostly on run and ride. So this morning started off with a 20min run with 1min pick ups (every min we picked up the pace). Later after registering we did a small ride to check out the gears. But the best part of day before race is Team Dinner! We ate Luigi's and we had a reservation for 70 triathletes. The room was filled with excited energy and amazing conversations. The team carbed up and got ready for the nights sleep. My transition bag is filled with bike helmet, bike shoes, sneakers, GUs, gummies, sunglasses and race bib. My belly is filled with chicken, rice and electrolytes. I am filled with gratitude for such a supportive team and family. Let's do this.
