DWC Day 2 - Forever/Displaced
((The story takes place before Legion.))
Serena watched the night sky, enjoying the breeze on her face. The stars weren't the same as in Silvermoon, but they were just as beautiful here, just as calming. Yet no matter how hard she tried, her mind just couldn't relax.
She lived at Hyjal now, a place shared with her husband... still she missed Silvermoon, and a family where she wasn't truly welcome anymore.
"
May it be an evening star
Shines down upon you
May it be when darkness falls
Your heart will be true
You walk a lonely road
Oh, how far you are from home
"
The nearby trees echoed her voice, with the lullaby her minn'da used to sing to her, long ago. Silvermoon City was home no longer, but it was so for much of her life. Letting that sentiment go was hard, harder than she thought possible.
"
May it be the shadow's call will fly away
May it be your journey on to light the day
When the night is overcome
You may rise to find the sun
"
She was surprised when another voice joined hers, robbing her of words as he sang in thalassian of all things, his arms wrapping around her waist from behind.
"How... how do you know this song?" Serena asked as she turned around in her husband's embrace for a quick kiss.
"I... did some research, thinking of the future. If we ever decide to try and make our family larger. It only felt right that I should know more about your people, even if our cultures share the same roots." Asharin replied with a small chuckle and a shy smile.
"Oh, you..." The sin'dorei buried her face into his shoulder, she couldn't help herself. The length this man was willing to go for her sake, it filled her with warmth. She didn't think she could love him even more than before, yet here they were.
"And I can promise you one more thing. You are my home, and we will be together as long as our stars do shine." The druid whispered while gently caressing her ebony hair, placing a kiss on the top of her head.
Serena just nodded into his shoulder, happy tears running down her cheeks as she clung to him tighter. She was truly home, now and forever.
