i don’t mean this in an annoying fun police way, but i genuinely don’t see the appeal in any canon divergent lsoh ships. like aumour is already perfect as is. we don’t need to make seymour fuck the dentist. we don’t need seymour to fuck the plant. we don’t need to make the dentist fuck a character that only appears in the movie musical (which i also don’t like but that’s just bc it’s a movie musical).

again though like what you like idgaf i just personally don’t like it. especially dentorin. and actually any ship with orin

OM Work Week 2: Reflection on “We Are All ONE”

“Know One, know all.”

I really like to think and say that “we are all one,” because I truly believe that we are, in fact, all ONE. (Quotes to aid in my explanation from The Katha Upanishad)

But what does that mean to me? 

It means that myself, you, every person, every animal, every plant, everything are all one. There is no difference between you or I or a cow or an apple tree or a whale or whatever, we are all the same deep down. It is common to see ourselves as separate. When we see ourselves as separate from other humans and when we see ourselves as separate or better than other animals we create suffering by thinking we are separate.

“The eternal Self slays not, nor is ever slain. Hidden in the heart of every creature exists the Self, subtler than the subtlest, greater than the greatest.”

What does it mean to be one? 

It means that I am made of energy, love, stardust, Self, Brahman (“the hidden Self in everyone”), the Universal Mind, whatever you want to call it, and you are made of the same thing. Your Self is no different from my Self. Your Self is Brahman and my Self is Brahman. Deep down to our cores we are all one.

“It is but few who hear about the Self. Fewer still dedicate their lives to its realization.”

It is Ego and separation that lead us into believing that we are separate and that we have an “individual soul” that is separate from each other; this is the concept of Atman. But in fact Atman and Brahman are the same thing: an experience of Love. The problem is that some don’t notice this oneness that prevails.

“The truth of the Self cannot come through one who has not realized that (s)he is the Self. The intellect cannot reveal the Self, beyond its duality of subject and object. Those who see themselves in all and all in them help others through spiritual osmosis to realize the Self themselves.”

How do I see others as one with myself?

To see others as one with myself I have to first be able to see them as myself (in their mistakes and triumphs), and see myself in them and then realize that we are in fact one. In a few sessions with Sufey we have done “eye gazing” which is basically sitting still facing someone and looking directly into their eyes for an extended period of time. At first we giggled, then once we moved past the tears-rolling-down-face-my-cheeks-hurt laughing the real lesson began. The last time I did eye gazing I experienced something I never had before. I will share some of my journal entry directly following: “I almost got lost in the universe in her eyes. We are all one. I nearly got lost. But it was good. My eyes started to lose focus. She was in a fuzz, halo where all I saw was her eye. Then when I closed my eyes I saw this glow. I saw the Self. Or at least what it looked like right now to me. A beautiful glow. Her aura around her body. Both found around her body when my eyes were open surrounding her physical body and then her Self aura with my eyes closed.” (Some of you may be thinking that this is an exaggeration, but hey the proof is in the ink, I guess you could say. This is just my experience.) Yes, it sounds strange at first to think about looking into another persons eyes for more than 2 seconds, but it can be a powerful experience. When you truly LOOK not just at someone, but deep into their eyes, into their soul you will see that we are all the same, all united, all one.
