13. your favorite type of fandom event (gift exchange, ship week, secret santa, prompt meme, etc)

REMIX RELAY! I don't think it's particularly common but basically it's like a game of fandom telephone where one person writes a fic, and then someone else gets just that fic and makes art or a fic based on it, and then that fic goes down and so on and so forth. It's always really fun to see what people come up with and latch on to, sometimes they swap POV, i did this in Marvel so it's like "ok how would that concept play out in a different canon," sometimes you write it with a different ship, it's great!

And the also all the pieces are released out of order and you inevitably find out the really angsty fic came from a throwaway line in a fluffy one, or someone took an art peice and made it way darker, it's great. I'd love to do another one

17. something everyone in the fandom loves that you also love?

I don't pretend to know what the general fandom opinion is but I think "Kamoshida's Palace fucking slaps and is a brilliant opening to the game" is pretty common. It just does a really good job of setting the stage for everything that comes before, Ann not killing Kamoshida because she wants him to suffer, Kamoshida being a prick but also showing you why no one does anything. It is so SO good and this is not damning with faint praise because you NEED an opening this good to get the rest of the game going but Persona 5 would not be as popular if that one arc wasn't pretty much perfect in every way it needed to be

Random curiosity on if/how you ship Lucrecia, so: both Lucrecia/Hojo and Lucrecia/Vincent?

Firmly both in the sense that what I am interested in where Lucrecia is concerned is mess. I'm alright with different permutations of that mess but my favourite iteration is married-to-Hojo Lucrecia begins an affair with Vincent after Hojo becomes obsessed with Jenova.

If I had an unpopular opinion it would probably be that Lucrecia did, at some point, have a relationship with Hojo that was entirely voluntary and maybe, even briefly, personally fulfilling. Also that she’s easily just as terrible as the both of them.

ml courtroom drama?

That was a Miraculous Ladybug fic that would map out the trial of Gabriel Agreste as Hawkmoth as told through courtroom transcripts and social media! My favorite part of writing is stretching the format and trying to find all the different ways that stories can be told. I really liked the idea but ended up scrapping it because of the sheer amount of research I would have to pour into it in order to make it accurate to the French justice system.

Here’s an excerpt:

CORDONNIER: So you were given the Miraculous for the express reason to fight Hawkmoth?

CN: Yes. I got my Miraculous just after Stonehenge made his appearance.

CORDONNIER: Now that he’s been caught, are you going to keep your miraculous?

CN: Yes.

CORDONNIER: Why? Isn’t it irresponsible then to let five youngsters have immeasurable power when there is no enemy for you to -

DUCOTE: Objection! What does this line of questioning have to do with the trial?

VERNE: Objection sustained. Monsieur Cordonnier, please refrain from going off topic.

CORDONNIER: I - yes. I apologize, Chat Noir. Your honor.

may I ask your b2nd thoughts on tiz? (do they tie back to that celestial host astrologian piece?)

I drafted up a couple answers to this but stuff got a bit tooreal so here’s a different headcanon I’ve been meaning to share: tiz is like,super sleep deprived for the majority of bravely second. since altair’s only ableto take over at night and tiz is hellbent on helping others to aself-sacrificing degree, he wouldn’t tell altair to tone it down and let himsleep or anything sensible like that. even with altair seemingly fairlyreluctant to use tiz like that (he apologises quite a lot iirc) there’s stillan awful lot of purple text in the diary and even one night of poor/littlesleep can really affect a person. as a result tiz often misses out on a dangerousamount of sleep, and is prone to making blunders during battle and nodding offat any opportunity during the day. before altair revealed himself nobody hadany idea what was causing this, though they did wonder if it was leftovereffects from the coma (and were lowkey worried he was going to slip back intoit).

the astrologian stuff is separate to what i was thinking about with that comic/his situation with altair, and is very much just a selfindulgent AU lmao! I guess it’d work best in a late game/post game scenario forsecond, especially since the compass that revives him doesn’t give him a propersoul, just something close - nice empty spot for any other random soul to hopright in, maybe? and/or the residue from hosting two different, powerful soulsmakes it easier for him to channel celestial power to a scary degree. I justlove the idea of tiz being the random nobody of the group (sure, he’s a warriorof light and the survivor of norende, but his travelling companions now hold likehalf the positions of power in luxendarc) … until push comes to shove andsuddenly you’re pitted against the body of a shepherd with the soulof a god, lol

(I guess when you put it like that it almost sounds like anoffshoot of waifujuju’s soulless tiz AU, huh… the resemblance wasn’t deliberatebut it’s definitely a fun overlap! bodysharing hijinks are fun)

The dragon tattoo headcanon (? not sure if that's the right word for this) for Ringabel/Alternis is really cute!

!!! :O Thank you!! It’s a personal favorite headcanon of mine, and the one I’ve had the longest for the boys. I just really, really like it ;m;/

I ended up using this an excuse to doodle something, since it’s been a bit since I last showed one of the boys off with them! I like to think Alternis got them when he was about 16 or so, and he goes in every once in a while to get them touched up as he gets older. As for Ringabel, he had to get them redone at some point, since his close encounter with lava ruined them, but before he regained his memory, he wanted them gone. Most of the dragon theme comes from the presence of scales on their arms, but I like to think they have wings on tattooed on their back too! Ringabel is just a tad bit embarrassed by them now though, despite the meaning behind them ahaha.

(Speaking of Ringabel, it ends up doubling as him wanting to protect his children too later in life.)

To be honest, this headcanon actually only started because I noticed that Ringabel’s outfits tend to have longer sleeves compared to Tiz, and I just liked the idea of him trying to hide something… Tattoos just seemed to be the most appropriate answer. The dragon theme came later, but I definitely don’t regret coming up with it in the first place.
