Au of the day or something
So now is when I use the “or something”.
That’s right my 2 followers! “Or something” isn’t just a lazy add on! It means I can do other things too! Like headcannons and shit like that, so here’s the first of the “or somethings”.
So for awhile I’ve wanted to make something that would explain the Nations betraying the connections they have with other Nations that’s not just “I did cause my boss made me!!” cause let’s face it, a 1000 year old friendly, brotherly, or other connection with someone isn’t going to be broken by some asshole with a throne saying “DO THIS CAUSE I SAY SO”
When a nation starts a war or is given an enemy they go into a sort of ... war mode. During this war mode a nation will enjoy and, for some, crave the pain and loss of their enemies. This war mode sends them into a all nations for themselves mindset that can only be broken by the people in charge of them. During this war mode they almost blindly follow their boss(es). This is why they can go from “Hi Bro, I genuinely love and care for you” to “he bro, Imma just burn your shit down”
Now while this is benefactual, as they can use it to disconnect from their emotions towards other nations and thus carry out their jobs, it can also be a bad thing as, though it is very very rare, false alarms do exist.
For example, you’ve probably heard of snapped!Canada, well, he’s a product of more common false alarms. During a false alarm the nation isn’t giving an enemy, thus they must make their own to explain WHY they’re in this mode. In snapped!Canadas case he’s made up that his enemies are the ones that forget him often and, while this may not seem like it’s good enough reason for war, that’s a good enough reason for someone who’s in this war mode.
so yeah ... that’s how I explain betraying existing bonds and the snapped!Nations
