have to start by saying everything referenced here is in accordance with my exclusive lonnie ( @auradoncaptain ) !! shoutout to kelsey quinnzel for developing our kids with me !!
ben and lonnie are best friends and even if he tried , though he doesn’t , he couldn’t remember a time when it wasn’t that way. they were always going to grow up together , the same way they grew up right beside everyone else that was sort of born into their social circle but the two of them were notably close. lonnie was ( still is ) one of the few people who knew the reality of the … rocky state of the de bourbon household growing up. she was around too much not to and even if she hadn’t have been she was always someone ben didn’t have to put up facades or anything for. she’s always known him.
hand in hand with being his best friend , she’s also his right hand in matters of being king. she was on the receiving end of anytime he needed to talk about any fears or nerves about not being able to lead. she was one of the first people to know when the decree to bring the isle kids over was just an idea. one of the reasons ben knows his way around a sword as well as he does is because him and lonnie trained a lot together growing up. you could ask either of them at any given moment where the other is and they would know. they share a google calendar !
they’re just really a package deal and ben probably could not recall the last time he had something going on that she didn’t know about. the fact they’re a package deal in both royal and personal matters isn’t a secret , to anyone. the last year of prep they managed to talk fgm into allowing them to dorm together after years of powerpoint presentations , so they ended up with the only co-ed room for senior year. they perform together at the annual auradon prep talent show. they’re very powerful.
