Do you have any Akihiro and Aurora headcanons?
(Thank you for the ask, lol)
Okay, great, so start, I should probably share that I have a few fanfics:
https://archiveofourown.org/users/Ya_Boi_Jack/works
I haven’t written anything in a little while due to work and life being in the way and all that, but I have a few Auraki works in there, including a oneshot miniseries called “Road to Hellverine” from last year when Hellverine was first announced and all that.
Lots of them basically have most of my headcanons somewhere here and there, but I’ll give you a list too.
I have a few for both them as a couple and each as individuals, so I’ll organize it that way! Most of these are fluffy, innocuous things that I can think of off the top of my head.
--Akihiro’s relationship was 100% with Aurora. The whole romance/lovers thing was between Aki and Aurora
I do think Jeanne-Marie did respect him a great deal and they had a pretty decent friendship. Mostly they talked about history and literature, because Jeanne-Marie is a teacher and Aki is just plain well-educated.
--Since it’s canon that people with heightened senses (like Logan) can differentiate who is fronting by scent, Akihiro can note the subtle differences between Aurora, Jeanne-Marie, and the other headmates by minute shift from the system’s baseline scent. For example, Aurora has more warmer, slightly spicy notes like cinnamon and clove. Jeanne-Marie has more of a fresh cotton with a hint of jasmine, another would be sea salt and crisp ocean air, etc. But it’s very subtle, like more subtle than an intimate perfume.
--Akihiro wrote love poems for her, but he was way too embarrassed to show her most of them
--Aurora makes a perfect cup of coffee, exactly the way Akihiro likes it
--Most of their dates were relatively lowkey, consisting of staying in, cooking together, and maybe watching a movie or new show. Their worklife as superheroes was exciting enough.
--Despite apparently being broken up now, Akihiro and Aurora still regard each other as very good friends. They’ve both been through a lot respectively as individuals and at the bare minimum, are nonjudgmental toward each other. After some time has passed, when the breakup is no longer fresh, they might play wingman for each other (with mixed results. Sometimes good. Sometimes fleeting moments of jealously still pop up). At the end of the day, they appreciate the good time they had together and respect each other.
Aurora & Jeanne-Marie Beaubier Headcanons:
--Both Aurora & Jeanne-Marie love thrifting for vintage clothes. Like, that’s the one thing they agree on. Aurora likes the designer brands (and has a knack for the high end finds of the century), whereas Jeanne-Marie is more “practical” in her choices.
But both do appreciate not paying full price for anything, despite having wildly different reasons for it. Aurora loves high quality brands at not-full price, whereas Jeanne-Marie believes cultivating a modest, secondhand wardrobe is very sensible.
They each have their own closet, with a piece here and there for other headmates (most headmates hardly front). This was a mutual compromise, as they previously used to casually dispose of each other’s wardrobes, leading to some intense civil wars within that closet.
--They also keep separate collections of not only make-up, but skincare products like face washes, creams, lotions, treatments, etc. Aurora's skincare routine is more intensive with lots more steps, and includes some luxury beauty brands. Jeanne-Marie sticks to drugstore products, save for her one indulgence, which is a fancy night cream.
--Jeanne-Marie has a fondness for French pastries and desserts like pain au chocolate, madeleines, profiteroles, etc. in additional to Quebecois sugar pie. Aurora less so, but Aurora is more adventurous, food-wise.
--Being raised in Catholic school, choir was mandatory, so they have a beautifully trained singing voice. Aurora is the one person you want to team up with for karaoke night. Jeanne-Marie is more technical has better control over her voice in her singing, but will only sing in a group as part of congregation or background in choir.
--Jeanne-Marie was initially very vocal about Joanne not being baptized, but Kyle came in clutch with the argument that “Jesus himself wasn’t baptized until he was about thirty, so surely the lord can lead Joanne to church all in due time if it is his will.” (this is 100% what my sister used on my abuela when trying to argue to have my niece baptized. Also headcanoning that both Kyle and JP want Joanne to have the freedom of choice when it comes to religion.) Kyle lowkey studied a bit of theology so he had his arguments prepared. JP tapped out because his feelings are complicated and full of swearing. Kyle can be level-headed about it, and Jeanne-Marie ends up leaving it at that for the most part.
--Aurora loves dancing while she’s flying, and during her free time, she’ll often be jamming out above headquarters with her earbuds in.
--He generally doesn’t “act his age” due to spending most of his life abused and brainwashed beyond belief (and therefore deals with a lot of self-worth and identity issues that come with that), but the things that clock his age are his fondness for stereotypically “old people candy” like Sakuma Drops, occasionally making references to shows/concerts/media that came out like 50 years ago (memories are a funny thing and don’t always act chronologically), and leaving his cell phone in weird places like a grandpa or having a “central location” for it like it’s a landline.
When pressed or called out, he'll play it off like he's too cool to be attached to a phone 24/7 or people are just jealous he actually got to see Freddie Mercury live in concert. Stuff like that.
--He has zero clue when his birthday is supposed to be, and doesn’t even feel the need to celebrate it, but generally tells people it’s around Shichi-go-san (November 15) as that’s what his adoptive family picked for convenience’s sake.
Logan later tells him he was actually supposed to be a late May/early June baby, but that doesn’t really change Aki’s thoughts on the matter.
--He’s actually friends with Puck and they bonded during his short stint in Alpha Flight. Mostly because Judd is one of the few characters who is genuinely older than Aki, and doesn’t come with the emotional baggage that Logan does. Aki sort of views him like an uncle figure, even if he’d never admit it. They mostly talk books and Akihiro enjoys his stories.
They both also like messing with Logan by doing stereotypical father-son activities together on occasion. Teasing him by hitting Logan with the "found another short, hairy Canadian to play dad instead" and variations of it. Logan plays up his annoyance, but is secretly a bit relieved that his son has someone to do "normal things" with, albeit also a little sad. It's complicated. Judd and Logan talk about it over beers sometimes, and Judd's perfectly willing to pull back a bit at Logan's request.
--Akihiro’s favorite genre of music is crooner-type stuff like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, but he has a variety of tastes, ranging from EDM to folk to heavy metal, depending on his mood. (he generally doesn’t limit himself to specific genres)
-- He has a deeper, baritone voice he inherited from Logan. But his voice is significantly smoother and not at all gravelly like Logan’s.
-- he was a very skinny, lanky teenager/young adult and didn’t really begin to “bulk up” until his late twenties-ish. He has broader shoulders like Logan, but still isn’t anywhere near as broad overall and still maintains a bit more leanness, which is especially apparent coupled with his height.
--the majority of his wardrobe is designer, even down to the leather jacket and his black nail polish. He is very proud of this fact and has quite the collection, though he'd never call any of his pieces "vintage" no matter how old they are, because he generally bought and/or shoplifted them when they were brand new.
He also gets irrationally pissed when any of clothes are ruined. His body regenerates. Money, time, and effort spent cultivating such a wardrobe does not.
