Hey hey! I'm curious - what is it about the symmanzo dynamic that intrigued you to the point you write and draw them? (grateful you do btw haha)

second: HOO OK so ive been sitting on a little writing thing about how i imagine their relationship would develop in canon so this reminds me that i should finish that lmao

but im such a sucker for redemption shit?? like, with atla, zuko’s storyline stole my goddamn heart, same with thane krios from mass effect, bucky of course from marvel comics, and it’s smth that i’ve recently noticed is a recurring background for my dnd characters lmao

anyway! i’ve always been partial to quote-unquote rarepairs and i sometimes compulsively scour ao3 to find fics that are centered around rarepairs, and i ended up stumbling upon a couple on satya/hanzo!!

and it kind of made me think about the quiet dynamic of them, entire conversations passing between the two with the simple action of raising an eyebrow or tilting a head. i feel that they would communicate almost completely with body language and quiet touches. it just comes naturally to them. and on days when satya is exhausted and nonverbal, hanzo wouldn’t push her and god it’s nice when someone doesnt yell at you to talk when youre unable to speak lol

so i guess what draws me to them, is that they both have their own pasts they’re trying to recover from — they were both groomed to do someone else’s bidding (vishkar/shimada clan). and i imagine that they’re both eager to start a life separate from the people who used to control them, and i could see them both exploring things they never got to do before and it makes me cry a little bit.

also theyre both gorgeous as hell and im weak

...okay honestly I was just browsing the symmetra tag waaaaaay back when and encountered some lovely nsfw art of them from eroticlava...and it got me thinking! Those two both have an intense vibe but I think that would be mellowed out together out of familiarity haha ��

yes!! i totally love the idea of them being so intimidating to others and then if someone ever caught satya and hanzo being domestic together it’d be so confusing?? like, genji walks in on satya and hanzo just lazing together on the couch watching korean dramas that hana recommended (bc she has a cameo in a couple episodes, obv). and genji’s brain just kind of short-circuits bc he doesn’t remember the last time he saw his brother just... relax??

and satya and hanzo are both just sitting there in comfy clothes with the episode paused going, “what do you want, genji, it’s the season finale and theres 5 minutes left”

I really love your answer to why you ship Symmanzo and I feel the same! I discovered them when I was planning a Hanzo fic and there was going to be a scene with Hanzo and Satya. I quickly discovered how naturally they interact with each other and how easily it could turn into romance. They won't feel judged by each other cause they're in the same boat and they'll bring the best out of each other cause they both want to improve. And their personalities just mix so well it's almost perfect.

yes, i love the idea of them being mutually supportive of each other and working as their partner’s cheerleader lmao.

and funnily enough, one of the first things that initially deterred me from writing them was because their personalities are both... sort of intense, but quiet?? i thought that it would be difficult to have them interact without it being awkward, but surprisingly, writing them just came so naturally and it was ridiculously fun to write them together
