Amira finished setting up her Candy-Land-inspired booth, knowing that the child version of her would be thrilled by the way it turned out. There was a reason she didn't have any of her employees come to man the booth until after she was set up and settled in. She just couldn't count on anyone to make what she saw in her head come to life the way she could. "Would you like to try some fudge? This one tastes like Butterbeer," she asked, with a playful tone as she made eye contact with someone looking at her booth.

Liza was seven months pregnant now and as such, wasn't feeling up for standing at a booth all day to work. However, that hadn't stopped her from keeping tabs on the workers who were manning the booth and making sure everything was going well (especially since everything there was still her recipes).

Swapping out the sample tray to now have some mini macarons out, Liza looked up and grinned at someone eyeing the booth, a cookie currently in one hand while the other moved off her stomach to motion to everything on display. "The samples are free if I can tempt you!"

Noelle knew she didn't have to be at the booth for Sweet Nothings because she trusted her niece could handle it all on her own, but she was admittedly way too excited to just leave it all in someone else's hands.

"Can I interest you in some macarons? Seriously, you need to get some before I end up eating them all myself!" Noelle laughed as she held up the tray.

One thing that almost always holds up Pax endlessly at a food stand is the option to choose. So used to being unable to pick and choose in his dietary options (thanks, Mom), the abundance paired with his distaste of spending unnecessary amounts of money results in him rarely ever pushing the boundaries. He is standing at the Sweet Nothing's booth, perusing the menu.

“Hey,” Paxton breaks out of his train of thought, still standing at the front and effectively holding up the line. He holds an arm out to gesture for Ian to answer the booth attendant.

"You pick first. I can't decide." He never could, not when there's so many options. "Maybe blueberry cookies… I don't know. I think it's too early for pumpkin? Even if I'm tempted because I am basic, and I love pumpkin everything."

Something she hadn’t expected to happen, is happening. Joey is not in any mood to be bothered by this but, given she is in a public place and it totally being within the realm of her luck, she would probably run into someone she knew that she otherwise would not have wanted to run into.

Mercury must be in retrograde, or whatever someone at the crystal shop might say.

To run into an ex is one thing. To run into a ex that ended things because she'd committed an act of infidelity is another. On a few accounts, too. Something she holds close to her chest as in that moment of discovery she didn't want to make it worse.

Somehow, she finds herself still bitter to some degree, like Scott could've given her another chance to make it right and do right by him. Joey knows it is highly unreasonable to expect that, but love is unreasonable at points. Isn't it?

"I'm not sure if you want to sit here." She first addresses Scott without so much as a side glance. Under the canopy set up with tables underneath, it is a good place to cool down. She's there with Bella and Bowie and a portable dog bowl of water who are both relaxing after an exciting day.

"You're a long way from Los Angeles." Or has he been here all along and she's been so fortunate as to not discover it until now? "I wouldn't think a small beach town Summer Bash would bring you two hours down I-5."

“Oh god why did I have chocolate sauce on that ice cream…I should have cut my losses way earlier.” Sloane moaned as she sat against a wall just off the town square where she and Jake had been wandering around the end of summer event. Loose fitting dress was helping her keep cool but it did nothing when it came to her not eating everything in sight and after twenty eight years of eating very little her body was still getting used to the fact the redhead was shoving all kinds of things into it daily to deal with cravings. Closing her eyes as she leant her head back for a second she made a pouting face, one hand resting on Jake’s thigh as she tried to ignore the uncomfortable nausea she now had at the base of her throat thanks to said ice cream. “You should have finished it for me, how dare you.” Sloane teased she turned her head and cracked one of her eyes open to smirk at her boyfriend, squeezing his leg gently with her nails in a jokey way not because she wanted to actually hurt him. “I might have to like…take a nap or something before we come back later on because otherwise I’m going to be a total mess while we’re trying to have a nice dinner.”

Aiden's waiting around by the booths for Fiona's arrival. The pressure in his skull has reduced to a dull throb, thanks to the Excedrin he downed first thing in the morning, and being out in the sun and crowd is becoming somewhat bearable. He's holding his water bottle against the back of the neck to allow the cold condensation to cool him down when he spots a familiar face perusing the stand he is waiting near.

"Hey — I remember you." From years and years ago, when he'd been nothing but a little boy and she a little girl. At an open house his mother had been hosting, trying to sell one of Aurora Bay's listings. They explored the hallways together while their mother's chatted, bored and curious and trying to kill time.

"My mom sold your parents a house, right? Way way back, I don't know how long ago. I broke a vase, got reamed out, ring a bell?"

starter: @aylinxc-s location: the bash (town square)

ari texted aylin yesterday, with a tentative question if she wanted to go the town square for the bash, since he hadn't spoken to her since he left. after a few days living at the bnb, he decided to crash on javier's couch and feel miserable about himself for a little while. but after a while of drowning his sorrows ari had to pick himself back up again, he was also afraid that this week of silence might give the impression to aylin that he didn't want to be around her. now more aware of what she was dealing with internally, he decides to offer an opportunity to be in a public place where hopefully she wouldn't feel so cornered. he'd indicated he was going in to check out the festivities, and she was welcome to join him if she so chose. so he sits with a coffee, staring down at the newspaper in front of him, trying his hardest not to glance around at his surroundings every two seconds or so to see if she was there.
