Self Love
Here’s my list — the things I love about myself: 1. My softness. I feel things deeply. I used to think that made me fragile, but I’ve learned it’s actually my strength. My heart notices small shifts in mood, quiet joys, and unspoken pain. I don’t rush past emotions — I sit with them, and that allows me to love more honestly.
2. My curiosity about people. I genuinely want to know who someone is, not just what they do or how they look. I love listening to stories, noticing patterns, asking questions that make people feel seen. There’s something beautiful about discovering someone layer by layer. 3. My resilience. I’ve been bent, disappointed, and hurt — but I’m still here, still open. I didn’t harden myself to survive. I adapted without losing my tenderness, and that’s something I’m deeply proud of.
4. My imagination. My mind wanders in gentle, dreamy ways. I romanticize life a little — moments, glances, conversations. It helps me find meaning in ordinary days and beauty where others might miss it. 5. My honesty. I try to be truthful, especially about how I feel. Even when it’s uncomfortable, I believe clarity is kinder than silence. I’d rather be real than perfectly put together.
6. My capacity for love. When I love, I love fully. I don’t do halfway. I show up, I care, I remember. That kind of devotion is rare, and I hold it carefully. 7. My growth. I’m not the same person I was before — and I like who I’m becoming. I reflect, I learn, I change. I allow myself to evolve instead of staying stuck in old versions of me.
Day 1- Love Survey
1. Do you believe in soulmates?
Yes-but not just one. I believe there are soul connections. Some stay, some teach, some shatter you open. The rare ones do all three. Some souls just recognize each other like they’ve met in different lifetimes.
2. What’s your ideal Valentine’s Day/Date?
Nothing flashy. No crowds. No pressure. A long walk somewhere quiet, hands tangled together, good food and a conversation that drifts until midnight with either of us noticing the time.
3. What is your love language (ex. physical touch, words of affirmation, acts of service, receiving gifts or quality time)?
Quality time first- undivided, phones down time. Then words of affirmation. When Oliver looks at me and means what he says, I melt.
4. What’s your favourite romantic or rom com movie?
This is a dangerous question. There are so many. The Princess Bride, Materialists, The Ugly Truth, Leap Year.
5. What is your favourite love song?
Now this is even more dangerous. There are just so many to pick from. At Last by Etta James, Dreaming of you by Selena, I’ll Be by Edwin McCain.
6. Who is your celebrity crush?
I married him. My husband Oliver Hendrix.
7. Do you believe in love at first sight?
I believe in that look. The one where the rooms goes quiet and you think, oh….there you are.
8. Are you a romantic?
Very much so. I keep old notes, dried flowers and memories like they are sacred objects.
9. Would you rather be crazy rich or deeply in love?
Deeply in love. Love makes everything feel softer and more meaningful. Money can’t hold you at 3 a.m. when the noise in your head gets too loud.
10. What is your deal breaker in a relationship?
Lying and cheating.
11. Have you ever fallen in love?
Yes. With my whole heart with my husband Oliver.
12. Do you think people can change when they love someone?
Yes-if they want to. Love doesn’t force change but it definitely makes it worth the effort.
13. How do you know when you love someone?
When their happiness feels tied to yours. When you stop keeping score. When their presence feels like home, not fireworks-though sometimes it both.
14. Can you love without fear?
No. Love always comes with fear. But you do it anyway. That’s what makes it brave. Loving him has taught me fear isn’t a reason to love- it’s a reason to hold on tighter.
