Brave and courageous with a lion heart, Caradoc Dearborn is every inch a true Gryffindor and a beloved friend by all due to his honesty and integrity. Born in Scotland, Caradoc was raised in the wizarding village of Portee on the picturesque Isle of Skye where his parents chose to settle into a quieter life after a lifetime of dangerous quests which took them across the globe. Bravery runs in the blood of both the Dearborn and Li families of which Caradoc is proudly related to, each with their own intense and brilliant family histories which are rooted deep within the wizarding world. SARA LI, his mother was a brilliant witch who had worked for the Japanese Ministry of Magic for a great many years before moving to London to aid in the protection of Japanese Magical Creatures. Travelling to Rome, Paris and onto London, Sara attempted to share her studies on the Oni, a deeply misunderstood creature she knew to have been featured in travelling circuses across Europe. An endangered creature due to the price on it’s horns, she ruthlessly pursued circus owners who kept them, joining a travelling circus herself to attempt to uncover the trade of the creature. While posing as an Oni keeper for a travelling circus in Paris she met Caradoc’s father, ADAHY DEARBORN an auror with a mysterious past who posed as a wizard dazzling crowds with windless magic of which he was an expert.

Undercover they began their love affair, travelling around the world attempting to rescue and save magical creatures from extinction. His mother and father’s love story was one that captured Caradoc’s imagination and he grew up with a taste of adventure and a love of magical creatures which his parents kept on their remote property just outside of Portee. It was a solitary upbringing but a beautiful one, surrounded by trees and the roar of the sea, Caradoc’s childhood was spent with his best friends. His parents who dazzled him with their escapades and their creatures who he lied beside dreaming up adventures that would take him across the world. Although his mother was very vocal about her family and her life in Japan before she came to London, his father spoke little of his life in Massachusetts. It hadn’t really occurred to Caradoc to inquire very much into it until it became apparent he shared the same magical abilities of his parents. Although Caradoc had always seen his mother use a wand, his father had never needed one. Adahy was extremely capable of very difficult magic with a simple spell or a wave of his hand and or a spell that his mother required a wand for. As most children in Britain obtain wands when they are eleven and are thus capable of wandless magic, Caradoc was unbothered by his magic rearing its head when he was angry or sad as it had with his mother and father.

But Caradoc wasn’t like most young wizards, the magic which occurred in strange spurts for most children he was able to control because of his father. Adahy began teaching him to control his magic while he was young. Chores became easy as a twirl of his hand engineered a sponge scrubbing a plate or bags of food flew outside to the garden to feed their firebirds. His ability was astounding and unlike anything many of the children in Portee were able to manage as they awaited their wands and their letters to Hogwarts. Caradoc too awaited his letter to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and when he was eleven years old it arrived. Hogwarts was everything Caradoc had imagined it would be, a beautiful castle with spralling green hills and a mysterious dark lake and forest which they were forbidden from venturing into. Someone who wasn’t very good at following the rules and had an immense appetite for danger, Caradoc rarely followed the rules and quickly befriended fellow trouble makers POPPY HOOKUM, DEMETRIUS MCLAGGEN and GWENOG JONES. Other people often found the pair high energy quite off putting, but Caradoc found them interesting and gleefully enjoyed exploring the outer edges of the school together and preaching the rights of all magical beings when they weren’t serving detention. Caradoc experienced his fair share of detentions whilst at Hogwarts and was a regular thorn in the side of PROFESSOR MCGONAGALL. But whilst like Poppy and Demetrius he got in trouble for taking down purists, he also had a habit for walking around after hours.

Exploring Hogwarts was simply due to Caradoc’s love of adventure, but his regular trips to the library and the restricted section were to do with another form of curiosity. Caradoc loved his life at Hogwarts but he longed to know more about his abilities. Wandless magic was not taught at Hogwarts and whilst Caradoc was comfortable with a wand he wondered why his classmates, like his mother, had needed the wands to control their magic. It was many nights getting caught wandering the halls and serving detentions for carrying books he shouldn’t be in the possession of that finally led I’m into the office of PROFESSOR DUMBLEDORE who finally gave him a book which provided him some answers. Wandless magic was not taught at Hogwarts but it was taught in a few magical schools, Uagadou School of Magic and The Greylock School of Magic. Both schools had amazing history, but it was Greylock that peaked his interest. Founded by the Dearborn family, QALETAQA and his wife TALA DEARBORN built the school to teach their children and the children of their village who lived at the foot of Mount Greylock to control their magic. It was a small school at first, though over the years it grew to take on more teachers and greater numbers of students before becoming the most sought after school in The United States and the leading school to teach only wandless magic. The Dearborn family were firmly at the helm with the current headmaster TAIMA DEARBORN, a direct descendant of Qaletaqa and Talana of a similar age to Caradoc’s aging father Adahy.

Armed with his research he put it to his father the summer after he finished Hogwarts. Caradoc knew they were connected to Greylock in some way, but he wasn’t quite sure how. From a draw in his story his study Adahy produced a letter from Tala to Caradoc detailing his acceptance to Greylock when he was seven years old, based on his legacy status. Tala was his uncle and had been estranged from him after his father had abandoned his headmaster position at the school to chase a dream of becoming an auror. Caradoc was shocked and deeply hurt that his father would keep such an important part of his history from him. They had family in America, Caradoc had never met and a whole school had been open to him; he'd never gotten the chance to explore. Livid, Caradoc packed his belongings and moved out, renting a room in London with his best friend Poppy who was equally as irritated by their family as Caradoc was with his own. The pair had big dreams and only needed one another to make them a reality. Although Caradoc was curious about his legacy in America, a wider problem had captured his attention in Britain that was becoming worse as the years went by. Purist ideology was on the uptake and although the problem had been bad at Hogwarts it was becoming worse as they entered the wider world. Caradoc and Poppy had been firm members of CHARITY BURBAGE and BENJY FENWICK’s Sorcerers for Equality movement since Hogwarts, but knew they could be doing more.

Enrolling in the Auror programme, Caradoc studied hard to achieve his dream and quickly became a valued member of the department catching the eye of senior Auror KINGSLEY SHACKLEBOLT. Kingsley offered to mentor Caradoc after a few incidents at work had him flagged up on ALASTOR MOODY’s radar. Despite his talent, Caradoc had a bit of a tendency to put himself in dangerous positions in order to help or protect others, taking the law into his own hands and investigating cases without any help. It was his passion for justice, magical ability and desire to keep a close eye on him that prompted Kingsley to introduce Caradoc into The Order of The Phoenix, a secret group formed by Professor Dumbledore to keep Wizarding London safe from potential threat. Caradoc takes his role within the team very seriously, constantly working around the clock to look at cases from an angle which might be beneficial to the Order and berating Kingsley with his findings. Oftentimes, his accusations appear somewhat wild and under researched as Caradoc tries desperately to root out the death eaters amongst them. Presently, Caradoc has his eyes on KEIRA GREY, a Muggle-Born working at the coroner’s office whom the department frequently have worked with. Although Kingsley isn’t ready to hear it, Caradoc had no reason to suspect Keira until the passing of BOOKER BAGNOLD, but with fresh doubts now cast on the nature of his death Caradoc is admen Keira might have had a hand in covering it up and is determined to prove it.

→ OVERVIEW:

Emmeline Vance has always prided herself on being the brightest witch of her age. An avid reader from childhood, Emmeline has always been happiest whilst learning. As a child she would sit in the drawing room of her family home, hidden behind a set of curtains in a window seat pouring through her latest obsession she’d found in her family library. Reading had always been encouraged in the Vance household. Her father had been a journalist working for The Daily Prophet, whilst her mother had worked as an Auror for The Ministry of Magic meaning current affairs were a frequently discussed topic in their home. Though sometimes the subject matter their parents discussed was dark, they tried not to shy too much of it away from Emmeline and encouraged her to ask questions about the world around her without frightening her too much about the lands that lay beyond their town house in Baker Street. A curious child, Emmeline was interested in what her parents did for work and was confident enough within herself to ask about the politics of the wizarding world, whatever she couldn’t figure out on her own of course. Emmeline had a thirst for finding information and a strong sense of right and wrong that was far beyond her age.

Though she grew up as an only child, Emmeline was rarely alone when she required company due to her close relationship with her next door neighbour. ELIAS SPENCER-MOON was the grandson of a previous Minister for Magic and only slightly older than Emmeline. Their fathers had also both worked together at The Daily Prophet securing the close relationship between the two families. Whilst their parents were working, the two would spend their days being ferried between one another’s houses and prepared to attend Hogwarts. When classes were over, they’d both sit and read in silence together or discuss their plans to attend school and grow up like their parents. Emmeline had a clear sense of right and wrong and wanted to help change the world to be a better place and protect those who weren’t able to protect themselves, which was shared by Elias. They had dreams of graduating school and moving back to London to do amazing things and vowed no one would stand in their way. Elias went to Hogwarts first, returning to tell Emmeline of the magic and splendor that awaited her three years later. Then finally it was her turn, her letter arrived and the rest of her life was about to begin. 

Emmeline sat under the sorting hat for the longest amount of time in her year group as the hat decided between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw before proudly announcing her the latter. Despite being known by those close to her for her determination and loyalty, Emmeline is best known for her wit and intelligence which made Ravenclaw feel like her perfect fit. A stickler for the rules and a passionate young witch, Emmeline garnered a reputation for being a fairly quiet know-it-all, frequently sticking up her hand to answer questions to the joy of her teachers and the annoyance of her classmates, particularly AMOS DIGGORY who frequently enjoyed teasing her. Though in the social setting of Hogwarts Emmeline faded into the background, she was loud when it mattered and caught the attention of many of her professors and was proudly made a Prefect and a member of Slug Club during her time at school. Though she was often teased for her bookishness she made a best friend in cool girl HESTIA JONES, who was able to bite back against those who attempted to bully them for being the smartest girls in their year group. Emmeline didn’t care much for the opinions of bullies and threw herself into her school work and after school activities, which included Duelling Club, Charms Club and Potions Club. 

It was this commitment to her classes and all her activities she was chosen by PROFESSOR MCGONAGALL to receive a time turner to help her pick up extra classes, which resulted in Emmeline graduating with more O.W.L.S and N.E.W.T.S than anyone else in her year. Growing up with her mother as an Auror, Emmeline knew the risks involved in taking on such a serious position at The Ministry of Magic and the painstaking effort of passing all the tests and training. Going back into school mode, Emmeline spent the majority of her evenings studying at home, surrounded by her notes and books working tirelessly into the night in order to succeed. Always top of the class alongside Hestia, Emmeline made an impression quite quickly in the Auror’s office that although she was a Vance, she had her own identity and had real potential to succeed. Facing the work head on, Emmeline was quick to offer hand to any more experienced Aurors who required any extra help, often battling it out with Amos and sometimes Hestia to be chosen to work on more difficult. Her quiet demeanor, of not speaking unless she thought she had something of interest to offer stood her in good stead with their line manager ALASTOR MOODY who selected her often to work on cases ahead of the rest of her class. 

As such Emmeline has had more experience in the field than many young Aurors, assisting on arrests and working directly to Alastor Moody to bring in suspects for questioning and assisting in detective work that was beneficial to The Ministry. It was Moody’s preference for Emmeline that likely resulted in Amos Diggory biting his tongue and apologizing to her which although transparent, was greatly satisfying. Working closely with him had certainly sharpened Emmeline as an Auror, building her confidence and pushing her to be better at her job before she began growing suspicious of her teacher. When the disappearances started to pile up in London, Emmeline began asking necessary questions and finding odd clues at crime scenes that seemed unconnected until you looked closely. People from prominant families would go missing and those who turned up again seemed changed afterwards. At first she suspected it was perhaps a serial killer, but things didn’t add up wel enough for that to be viable. Outside of work Emmeline would interview people, follow persons of interest and ask questions, spending long evenings alone in her room trying to get a better angle that she felt fit. 

On certain cases Emmeline would try and seek help from Alastor who she found would bat her away quite often when she finally thought she was getting somewhere. It wasn’t long before she heard a knock on her door and the familiar figure of PROFESSOR DUMBLEDORE stood in her doorway and offered her the answers she was looking for. The disappearances had been tracked by her old headmaster for some time now and had been the work of a dastardly wizard. THE DARK LORD was thought to be an an ex-student of Dumbledore’s known now as Lord Voldermort and building an army to try and overthrow the wizarding world intent on spreading his message of poison. As Riddle’s army grew stronger Dumbledore began forging his own. The Order of The Phoenix was growing in numbers but Dumbledore had a special task for Emmeline. Along with Hestia- the two were to help train the younger members of the team in order to prepare them for what he feared would become an all out war. The current mentor of young witch LILY EVANS, Emmeline has been focusing on helping to train Lily and grow her already great skills and elevate her as a wicth. Emmeline enjoys training the younger members of the team and thrives in an enviroment where she can pass on her knowledge to other people.

The kindest of his friends with a gentle warmth in his heart, Remus Lupin is a difficult friend to make though he is a firm one. Raised in the Welsh city of Cardiff, Remus can’t remember much of his life before the pivotal moment which changed it forever. The only son of insurance officer HOPE HOWELL and senior advisor on magical creatures for The Ministry of Magic LYALL LUPIN, Remus’ earlier days were described by his parents as simple but loving. When he was first born his father mostly cared for him, allowing Hope to return to work a few days a week which became somewhat impossible during Remus’ later years until he attended Hogwarts. Lyall hadn’t yet taken his job at The Ministry, instead spending his time writing and researching for his latest book he had been writing during Hope’s pregnancy. Though Remus can’t remember most of it his younger years consisted of sitting with his father each day listening to the adventures of Lyall Lupin. Favourite tales included how he rescued his mother from a Boggart to his brief move into the Cardiff countryside to study troublesome Poltergeists. Lyall Lupin was afraid of nothing and it was a value he tried to instill in his son from an early age. 

As a young boy Remus was happy and curious, eager to learn about the world around him and did not frighten easily, though when your bedtime stories were about ghosts, vampires and werewolves there was little left to be frightened of.  His brief time at Primary School had also been a happy one, allowing his father to accept the senior advisor position in The Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures to help the magical world with his knowledge. Remus didn’t miss being at home when he was at school. Popular amongst the other students due to his kindness and compassion he arrived home each day hand in hand with his mother with a new story or a friend in tow to gossip with over the kitchen table. Then Remus stopped coming to school. School like many things in his life became impossible, all due to the events of one night and one man. With members of the magical community and Muggle communities going missing Lyall was involved in the trial of a man who would become an infamous name in the wizarding world. FENRIR GREYBACK was a werewolf in disguise on trial for the murder of two Muggle children and had told the questioning committee he was a Muggle tramp which all but Lyall had fallen for. 

Recognising the characteristic signs of lycanthropy in Greyback's appearance and behaviour, Lyall voiced his concerns recommending that Greyback be detained until the next full moon, which was only twenty-four hours away. Lyall was instead ridiculed, causing him to lose his temper and was consequently expelled from the room while Fenrir was released, escaping onto the streets of London and hatching a plan to further ridicule the wizard who had offended both him and his kind with his comments. Shortly before Remus's fifth birthday, Fenrir followed Lyall home to his little house in Cardiff and climbed inside Remus’ bedroom window. Claws extended and teath beard he swiped at Remus, as he screamed in pain. Lyall reached Remus in time, repelling Fenrir with a powerful curse but the damage had already been done. Remus was infected. Every full moon thereafter Remus would transform into a werewolf, afraid for the lives of those around him and scared of the animal inside him that clawed its way out of him. His parents tried everything to find a cure for their son both magical and Muggle but could find nothing to help him. Concerned his condition would prevent Remus from attending Hogwarts his parents made arrangements to homeschool Remus but were stopped in their tracks the night before Remus’ eleventh birthday. 

Entering their home despite Lyall’s charms, PROFESSOR ALBUS DUMBLEDORE convinced Remus’ parents to allow him to accept his position at Hogwarts since he had already seen to it that the boy would have a safe, secure location to spend his monthly transformations. Moving to Hogwarts was a liberating experience for Remus. With a place to transform each month that didn’t result in him and his family moving every cycle he relaxed more into himself though he knew he could never fully let his guard down. He started by making friends with LILY EVANS, a gentle character and fellow Gryffindor who noticed how often he kept to himself. Lily was Remus’ first real friend and was grateful of her kindness. She never asked questions, only smiled and squeezed his hand at times she thought he needed it, which was more than she knew. The questions mostly came from the boys who lived in his dorm. JAMES POTTER was a loud and transparent boy Remus couldn’t have imagined being friends with until he was already in the throws of their friendship. James had taken a shine to him at first to get him away from Lily which Remus had noted though he said nothing till a number of years later. James’ best friends and his fellow roommates SIRIUS BLACK and PETER PETTIGREW, easily accepted him after James had given Remus his seal of approval and welcomed him with open arms into their little club of misfits. 

To the untrained eye, Remus didn’t belong with the three boys. He was much quieter, less trouble. But if souls were indeed made it was clear Remus, James, Sirius and Peter’s were made the same. They brought out a more mischievous side to him Remus had allowed to wither away long ago and although PROFESSOR MINERVA MCGONAGALL scolded him for his role in the occasional prank he still would enjoy the role he played. Despite his kinship with the boys, Remus still attempted to keep them at arm’s length, though a clever ploy by Sirius would not allow that to go on past their second year. Under the watchful eye of Professor Dumbledore, Remus would transform and roam The Dark Forest, before resting for a number of days in The Shrieking Shack and finally returning to classes. He would make up stories for his absence, but Sirius and Peter soon grew suspicious and followed him out one evening. Confirming their earlier suspicions they waited patiently for Remus to return before confronting him with their brilliant plan. Remus was shocked they hadn’t been disgusted by him, finding that with them finally fully by his side he enjoyed Hogwarts much more than he did his time at home. He graduated a prefect, narrowly missing out on Head Boy thanks to James and with close friendships he knew he would keep for the rest of his life as he headed into the world. 

Not wanting to burden the lives of his parents, Remus moved to Farringdon and settled into an apartment with his three best friends. He had a good support network around him, even from those who didn’t know about his condition. Remus had always thought to himself that if he was capable of loving someone he would have loved DORCAS MEADOWES. They enjoyed the company of one another in its purest form and that was simply enough. Given his status as a werewolf, Remus was refused a number of jobs before being accepted as a crime scene photographer in The Department of Magical Law Enforcement, working under FRANK LONGBOTTOM, due to a few kind words from Dorcas. The job was a gruesome one with people turning up each day murdered in one way or another. Remus and Frank were recently assigned a string of potential werewolf attacks they believed linked back to Fenrir Greyback. With the help of medical expert KEIRA GREY and Remus, Frank hopes to catch Fenrir and make him pay for his crimes though the pair have much more on their hands than simply Fenrir at present. Both members of Dumbeldore’s Order of The Phoenix, Remus spends a great deal of his free time training with Frank and helping The Order. Remus is dedicated and loyal enough to the cause to put in the extra hours and isn’t afraid to use the help of a few unconventional people to dig deeper into cases, even if he has to hide it from his friends.

→ OVERVIEW:

A woman who has always known exactly what she’s wanted out of life, Hestia Jones was raised in the knowledge she was destined for greatness. Born in North West London to famous Auror ALICIA AVERY-JONES and Wizgamot Judge BALTHASAR JONES, Hestia had large shoes to fill and had a childhood laden with distant parenting and the demand for perfection. The eldest of two children, Hestia was born when her mother and father believed they were truly ready to be parents, but often left her at home in the care of a nanny to focus on their careers. Hestia was born out of the necessity of carrying on their family line before the two felt they were too old, but it was clear a child meant slowing their lives down which neither her mother or father were prepared to do. When Hestia became too old for nanny, she was left in the care of a tutor who prepared Hestia for the strict education she would receive at Hogwarts. Her early days were spent with her nose in a book, a quill in her hand and an Outstanding on every piece of work she turned in to be marked. Hestia soon realised the only attention she would gain from her parents was when she produced hard work, which they valued above all else. 

With her mother working hard to become head of The Auror’s Office, it was Hestia’s father she spent the most time with at home, sitting beside him on their long family table in the dining room hoping he’d smile at her neatly presented essay left in front of him. Her cousin often remarked at the oddity of her relationship with her parents. LUCILLE JONES was two years younger than Hestia and the only real companion she had growing up. The apple of her parents eye, her mother was a Muggle actress, whilst her father was an Auror as famous as Hestia’s mother. But despite their fame and wealth, they poured all their love and attention into their daughter, which made Hestia feel small and insignificant. Being left with her aunt, uncle and cousin during the odd weekend when her parents were away was a holiday to Hestia. Her aunt and uncle spoiled her the way she thought she always should have been treated, often sitting silently at family gatherings wishing she’d been born to her uncle ADRIAN and aunt ELODIE rather than being ignored by her parents until they were told of her schooling progress. All of her family had noticed it, remarking her parents were people who should have probably never been parents. 

It was as Hestia was preparing to go off to Hogwarts that her younger sister GWENOG was born, a shock to both Hestia and her parents who had claimed they hadn’t wanted any more children. She almost felt sorry for the baby who would grow up as she did in their lonely home in Primrose Hill fighting for attention with their parents' busy schedule, but mostly Hestia was happy she finally wasn’t alone. Though the age gap between them was substantial, at least she would have something to distract her during her visits home from school which was a blessing within itself. Sorted into Ravenclaw, Hestia quickly made her mark at Hogwarts and became top of her year group, vying for the position with her best friend EMMELINE VANCE, but feeling she ultimately came out on top. Hestia was easily one of the most impressive students to grace Hogwarts and was made Head Girl in her final year of school, although she passed up on the opportunity to become Prefect as it would clash with her studies. Despite her brilliance, Hestia soon realised she would never be as impressive as her younger sister to their parents. 

Hestia may have been made Head Girl, but it was the same week that Gwenog had mastered a broomstick. She may have graduated as one of the top in her year group and had a History of Magic essentially memorised by the time she was ten, but Gwenog was able to name every single Quidditch Team competing for the League Cup. It was frustrating to say the least, but Hestia tried not to take out her emotions on her younger sister who had clearly benefited from ten years of career progression that had allowed her parents to focus on actually becoming parents. It was as she sat opposite her parents one evening as she told them she had secured her training contract to study to become an Auror and was met with a hug from her father and silence from her mother that she decided she was finished with them. Her surname name was hopefully common enough that no one in her department would figure out her mother was the Head of the Auror’s Office, as she certainly wouldn’t be relying on either of them or her name to get her anywhere in life. Packing a bag, she took her cat, her broomstick, kissed her sister on the head and left her house, putting a downpayment on a flat in King’s Cross to focus on the rest of her life alone.  

Auror training was more grueling than she thought it would be, though in true Hestia style she studied almost every night alone in her apartment or with Emmeline with the aim of becoming top of her class as she had been at Hogwarts. It was through her training, Hestia first became aware of AMOS DIGGORY, a self-assured rich boy who began putting himself in direct competition with Hestia. At first Hestia found his effort quite laughable, as it was clear to everyone on their course Amos had been accepted due to the status of his family within the department and struggled academically. Though Hestia is described by most as kind, Amos has often disagreed with this characterisation of her as she is often short with him and has little patience for his frequent jokes and boasting of himself. Finally graduating as an Auror alongside Emmeline and Amos, Hestia quickly threw herself into the job with the aim of solving as many cases as she could. Throughout her time within the Auror’s Office, Hestia has been revered as a competitive, hardworking and diligent witch, who keeps her circle of friends close and often stays behind after hours researching cases which have gone unsolved which are piling up around them. 

A number of strange disappearances here and there led Hestia to attempt to reopen the case of Hepzibah Smith who had been supposedly murdered by her own house elf. Unconvinced, Hestia drew negative attention to herself and ended up being reprimanded by her mother for disobeying her superior ALASTOR MOODY. It was humiliating, but worth it given she landed herself in a meeting with ALBUS DUMBLEDORE that would change her life forever. The Order of The Phoenix was in its infancy, with most of its members fresh out of Hogwarts with only basic knowledge in duelling, protective and defensive charms. Hestia has predominantly joined The Order to help her gather information on her unsolved cases, but is surprised how much she has enjoyed her role within the organisation. Alongside Emmeline and Alastor Moody she has taken to attempting to teach the younger members of the group master their magic abilities in preparation for what they fear might be a war. Although a wizarding civil war is a frightening prospect to Hestia, she is confident her work with The Order puts her firmly on the right side of history and will stop at nothing to ensure those who deserve justice receive it.

→ OVERVIEW: 

Charming yet calculated, Claudette Delacour is not one to be underestimated. Born into a pure bloodline, Claudette grew up with three siblings, LYNETTE, DOMINIQUE and youngest AIMEE. All of whom, held more of a taste for the lifestyle in one pinkie finger than Claudette held in her whole body. Palaces, balls, banquets and the allure of the french aristocracy; all sounds like something plucked from many girl’s fantasies. Though the fairytale was never quite the reality. Despite the grandeur, being a highly respected family came with its own set of standards and classifications that she could never grasp. Rules and regulations for things that seemed so inconvenient and tedious the young witch had no right mind about following them. Instead she would spend her days in the gardens or observing the muggle folk who lived in the village; often hiding among them and finding their company more riveting than any of that from their manor home. Thankful that atleast she had some freedom in comparison to her older siblings who were being trained how to hold grace in high society so they could carry on the family name. Her home left Claudette longing for a sense of normality and simplicity. Despite her lack of interest in high society, she always held a sense of nobility and honor.  

After her uncle abandoned the pureblood line disgracing the family; her father stepped up as the sole male air. The line passed down to a man who in truth never wanted to be seen so high, though his love for his family outweighed any of his desires. Out of any of the Delacour children, Claudette was most like her father. Head strong and grounded in a sense of reality, with a love for people rather than materials. The last thing Claudette intended to do was disappoint her family like her uncle had. As much as she longed for a simple and normal life; she knew it was merely a fantasy and something she can never truly have. Instead she bit her tongue, stood straighter and smiled, but that didn’t mean she wouldn’t throw in a quick witted remark here and there. Even if it meant putting noble wizards and witches in their place. Etiquette lessons had never been her favourite, but she tried and held an air of grace effortlessly after a while. Playing pretend in the day only to escape out of windows in the night to spent time in the muggle village. She found comfort in the small things. Despite her tedious life of rules and over bearing mother - whom in her eyes she could never seem to do anything right -, Claudette managed through and it wasn’t long before she attended Beaxbatons, following her siblings before her. 

Beaxbatons was somewhat difficult for Claudette. She wasn’t the stereotypical ‘girl’ and found friendships with the boys such as RAPHAEL FRANCOIS, particularly through GABRIEL DUMONT. The pair had know each other through parties in their youth but never formed a connection until school. Though rumors piled of a fleeting romance between the two; to them it was out of the question. The notion always leaving a displeased expression on both of their faces. They’d escape to the ground, dueling with one another and acting as each other’s wing man particularly at parties. While many of the girls spent their days gushing about romance, brewing beauty potions and braiding their hair like her sister Lynette, Claudette saw no interest in it. Luickly with her free spirit and determination to stand up for others, she found her people eventually; particularly in Muggle-Born JACQUELINE LEJEUNE. The pair became quick friends after Claude stood against ALEXANDRA ROSIER in Jacqueline’s defense. While her oldest sister seemed to be making friends with all the ‘right people’ in their mother’s eyes, Claude made genuine friendships often occupied with her younger sister who she was particularly close with. Days outside of school were spent slipping out of aristocratic affairs organised by her mother to drink the night away in hope to deal with their often insufferable families.  

Though the summers brought more time with her father. it became clear that she had a more politically inclined mind. Taking to her father’s work within the French ministry, Claudette became inquisitive, with a growing desire to learn; both about France and overseas politics. Leading to her quick decision to study to become an auror much to her mother’s dismay. She excelled in her studies, although she was often in trouble for her quick wit and somewhat cold and prejudiced demeanor; she was an excellent student. After graduation things seemingly seemed to be going well for the woman. Acquiring a job as an Auror within the Ministère des Affaires Magiques de la France; she’d found a profession she loved and quickly a witch in whom to hold her dear affection as well. EVANGELINE SELWYN, was someone that Claudette never expected. A summer of a whirlwind romance the pair quickly fell deeply for one another. Spending days encapsulated in each other’s arms the problems of the world seemed to evaporate at the simple brush of a hand. Despite having to hide their relationship from Claudette’s family, the pair were passionately connected. Eva’s summer turned to years. Having met at twenty two, after four years together it felt as though nothing else could pull them apart. Unfortunately fate had other plans.  

With her daughter’s relationship unbeknown to her, Claudette’s mother took it upon herself to orchestrate an arranged marriage to pureblood ALEXANDER TREMBLAY. A highly respected match that would bring a strong continued connection to her family; the mere idea left Claudette outraged. Having sacrificed her freedom and liberties for so many years, her heart was non-negotiable. Craving the ability to love freely, she refused. Because unknown to her parents she’d been planning to marry Evageline. Harboring dreams of running away together to start a new life where they would both be untouched by their families pureblood views and the legacy that had been placed upon them. Though on the night prior to her leaving with Evageline, Claudette had visited her family for the last time to share the news with her siblings, gather minimal belongings and leave a letter for her parents. Plans of a quick escape were quickly riffled, with her mother discovering Claudette’s intentions, locked the witch in her room. Charmed locks, no wand and no means of escape. Claiming it was for her own good, with a refusal that she couldn’t stand ideally and let her ruin the family for a ‘wishful fantasy’. A resentment grew deep within Claudette, despite efforts to contact Evageline, it was too late. From word from Gabriel, she’d left back to England heart broken thinking Claudette had changed her mind. 

With the love of her life gone, Claudette caved. Accepting the arranged hand of Alexander for her family, though of course that didn’t mean she would do it gladly. Having spent very little time with her so-called ‘beloved fiance’ didn’t settle her any less; quite frankly a day that many women dreamed about, was one she was slowly and un-secretly dreading. The resent she held towards her mother rooted deep, leaving her unable to not hold part of the blame to Alexander. Holding him in part guilty for her unhappiness and loss of everything she held dear. Cold and aloof, to say she is making it difficult for the male is an understatement. Holding prejudices and judgments for a person whom she doesn’t even know his favourite colour, leaving his frustration and exasperation clear. Though with rumors of war breaking across the sea in England; Claudette still can’t help but fear for what happened to Evangeline despite the year passing between them. Disguising it as offering to ‘play happy finance’ and move to be closer to her ‘betrothed’, she offered to transfer to the Ministry of Magic to aid in the help against the growing Dark Wizard. Knowing her heart is really set on protecting one particular English witch no matter the cost.

→ OVERVIEW:

The Golden Boy who can do no wrong in the eyes of everyone close to him, Amos Diggory has lived his entire life pampered, privileged and paid for by his father. The only son of CONRAD DIGGORY, the Deputy Head of The Department of Magical Sports and Games, Amos grew up the apple of his father’s eye and enjoyed a very active childhood. Growing up in Ottery St Catchpole in Devon, the Diggory home was a large one that oversaw the sprawling hills of countryside around them, which Amos spent the majority of his earlier days exploring before a broom was promptly thrust into hands. A man from old wizarding money who had certain expectations and demands placed on him by his own parents, Conrad wanted Amos to grow up in his image- a Quidditch champion with a successful career at The Ministry of Magic that would strengthen the Diggory name. Descendent from ex-Minister for Magic Eldritch Diggory, the Diggory family have always aspired for greatness and have had a strict plan for all the members of their family to follow. Amos was told since the day he could understand the wishes of his parents, that he would be the next Minister for Magic to grace their family and his father would stop at nothing to ensure his future position. 

Having been told he was born to rule the wizarding world since he was a baby, Amos grew up with somewhat of an over inflated ego which a number of people have managed to get past, including Amos’ younger sister EVE. Despite also being told by her parents she was destined to be the star of the Holyhead Harpies, his sister was far more modest than Amos and spent the majority of her life trying to bring him and his younger brother NATAN down to earth alongside her. Despite the pair being bery similar, Natan and Amos weren’t particularly close growing up, spending a lot of their time competing with one another, which saw Amos seeking solace in his best friends ARTHUR WEASLEY and AYA FAWCETT. The Weasley and Fawcett families lived close to the Diggory home, in sweet if slightly modest houses compared to his own and were always filled with laughter and fun. Amos loved his house, but it felt cold in comparison to the warmth of the Weasley burrow where the arguments and laughter of Arthur and his brothers BILLIUS and FREDERICK WEASLEY filled the halls of their family home. The Weasley family was different from his own. They encouraged their children to be whatever they wanted to be rather than usher them down a track they felt best fit their desires and had no opinions on who their children brought home as friends. 

Arthur was an approved friend by his family, Aya on the other hand was not. Although his parents would never admit it out loud, they were snobs when it came to blood purity and liked the idea of their children marrying within similar bloodlines in order to keep their line pure. They were very suspicious people, who didn’t like the way Aya looked at Amos with love in her eyes when she was a Half-Blood witch with little money to her name and silently hoped their son would grow out of her when he went away to school. Going away to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry cemented Amos’ reputation in the wizarding world as an egotistical boy who was unafraid to back down from a challenge. Sorted into Hufflepuff, Amos was a skilled flyer and a talented duellist, which he never tired of both telling other people and showing off about. His constant boasting managed to cause a rift between him and some of the more studios people in his year such as EMMELINE VANCE, whilst drawing in people of a similar nature such as fellow wealthy Pure-Blood TIBERIUS MCLAGGEN and TOMAS WOOD who he bonded with both on the Quidditch pitch and in Slug Club meetings of which they were all proud members. Graduating with fairly decent grades, Amos was in no way the top of his class though he was a hard worker and had been a very dillent and beloved Quidditch Captain for the Hufflepuff team which worked in his favor. 

His N.E.W.T.S results just managed to scrape him an interview to apply for a job in the Aurror’s Office, alongside a good word from his father. Although the idea of being a famous Quidditch player had always seemed more attractive to him, it had been decided by his parents long before he was born that his future career path would follow that of Eldritch Diggory as long as he could pass the rigorous exams. Amos began Auror training assuming he would be able to coast through it given his particular set of skills but quickly found it was more taxing than he had first apprehended. His natural charms didn’t help when attempting to brew Poisons and Antidotes potions much to the amusement of fellow trainee HESTIA JONES and the rest of his classmates. A friend of Emmeline’s, Hestia Jones had also been Amos’ year at school who he had chosen to avoid. Only interested in having fun and chasing Quaffles, Hestia was too stuffy for Amos and found her uptight and bossy demeanour overshadowed her beauty. His opinion on her hadn’t changed after they began training together, if anything he disliked her even more. Hestia seemed to take every opportunity to show off to the teachers and laugh at Amos in the process, which was wildly annoying. 

Although Amos hates to admit it, Hestia’s persistent comments and jokes made him want to be a better student and he began privately studying with his close friends KINGSLEY SHACKLEBOLT and FRANK LONGBOTTOM in an effort to make her feel embarrassed in classes. He also began to grow slightly fonder of Hestia who he began to enjoy attempeting to flirt with even if Hestia seemed disgusted whenever he gave her a compliment. Amos graduated towards the middle of his class, though began showing everyone why he had been chosen to undergo Auror training when he began working in The Auror’s Office full-time. A resourceful wizard, Amos enjoys being assigned to cases that require a different point of view and is quick at thinking on his feet. Though he is highly intelligent and has a high success rate of bringing in persons of interest and closing difficult cases, he is taken less seriously than some of the other members of his department due to his arrogance which often casts him in an immature light. Despite often being written off as egotistical, Amos has a genuine heart of gold and is very popular amongst his group of friends who see past his overly-confident facade. Having made amends with Emmeline in recent months and still seeking the approval of Hestia, Amos has had his head down recently attempting to help solve a number of missing persons cases he has seen the two witches working on. 

Despite everyone in the office working extra hard recently due to the string of disappearences, Amos has noticed not everyone has been working as hard as others. Emmeline and Hestia having previously sacrificed their social lives to live at the office, have been leaving earlier and going missing for days at a time without a word of warning to anyone other than ALASTOR MOODY. Suspicious the two witches are up to something, Amos has been slowly trying to figure out where they’re heading in their spare time and has been attempting to ask around and find out what they’re up to. Convinced it has something to do with the cases pililing up, Amos believes they are getting extra work from Moody due to them being his favourites and is annoyed that he is being overlooked. Despite wanting to get closer to Emmeline and Hestia, Amos’ ego is more important to him than friendship and he refuses to have anyone get one over on him when he knows he deserves better. Outside of work he can often be found laughing in various pubs and bars and charming the beautiful witches. Although Amos needs no help securing dates, he is often too busy to date. As such he spends a lot of time with LAUREL LINWOOD outside of his busy work schedule, taking her out to dinner and for cocktails when she can squeeze him in. Though Amos does pay for Laurel’s time, he believes the pair have a real connection however he isn’t sure if it’s something he tells himself to help him feel less dirty.

Much Ado About Nothing || Alastor & Kingsley, July 18th 1978

The fucker was pushing it.

As all things did between them, it started innocently enough and at some point in the past three years had devolved into a scrabble for victory between two endlessly stubborn and impossibly proud creatures. Neither was willing to admit defeat even if it meant the end of them both. They had been partners long ago, before the Ministry had realized the Aurors as a whole were too disposable to be lumped together. Alastor was undeniably the best friend he had ever had, but he was simultaneously the biggest pain in Kingsley's ass.

His father had once clapped him on the shoulder after a boisterous disagreement and reminded him that Slytherins and Ravenclaws made wonderful friends and vicious enemies. His relationship with Alastor had followed that exact path. No one was permitted to insult the man save for him, and no one could insult him as enthusiastically. They both had the wits to press one another to unfathomable heights and the wisdom to dash away relatively unscathed. That he had more scars from what the rest of the office affectionately referred to as lovers spats with Moody than any other foe was a badge he wore with disgruntled honour. When drunk, they were more likely to pick a fist fight with one another than anyone else. 

For the most part, their professional relationship maintained some degree of professionalism. Moody being the Head Auror Himself and Kingsley a Senior Auror in turn meant they were to provide a united front against foes outside (and inside) the Department. They made a formidable pair standing shoulder to shoulder with faces of stone; they made an infamous pair poking relentless at weaknesses behind closed doors. Moody made him stronger, made him faster, made him smarter, if only because Kingsley was forced to outmanoeuvre the bastard at every turn.

Kingsley had unwittingly started it all with a perfectly executed and mostly innocent April Fool's prank in Spring of 1975. He would never forget the outrage and betrayal on Alastor's face when he found his scotch had somehow been replaced with goblin piss over the night. It had taken two months for Kingsley to stop peering over his shoulder and a false sense of security to grow where paranoia had festered, but Alastor laid in wait like only a good snake would for things to return to normal before striking back.

It had never really been the same between them since then, not that he was complaining.

A slime-bomb rigged to crack open along with his office door was a dirty move. Even Moody could not have anticipated Crouch accompanying Kingsley straight from the Department doors to his office, rattling incessantly about this or that. The voice droning in his ear had meant far less of his attention was directed where it ought to have been-- on the other side of his goddamned door. He had thrown himself on the thing like a martyr with an active grenade to protect the Head of the Department; had taken the fall in Alastor's place because he'd rather eat the viscous sludge dripping from his robes than throw his son-of-a-bitch brother under the Knight's Bus; had grovelled appropriately about professional conduct to Crouch; had penned a short and terse owl to the guilty party. Fucking snake. 

His now-filthy formerly-favourite robes were insufficient to wipe the muck from his face to his satisfaction. He left it there nevertheless for full effect as he strode from his office to Moody's, a wake of gaping faces falling silent to watch the show. He did not knock; Moody was expecting him. The remnants of the half-squashed and still oozing bomb landed with a sickening splat atop Moody's paperwork. Deft fingers quickly unsnapped his robes so they could follow suit, a parachute of damp and sticky fabric billowing to rest over the little shit's desk. Rather than immediately speak, he crossed thick arms over thicker chest and undershirt and glowered down at the still-seated Moody. "Head Auror Moody. This is not what they mean when they say accessorizing."
