1. Jordan

This shot has always been my guilty pleasure from this cycle and AusNTM in general. If I could compare it to something, I’ll just use this quote from a blog, “it looks like a ad for fetish ballet shoes and tutu-esque tulle”. It’s odd but it makes sense to me. I’m mostly impressed at how Jordan was able to hold onto the pose considering that she was being swayed around a shitton. Her pose is so relaxed and weightless in a sense. She held onto her limbs well and the use of the umbrella adds to the theme more. I also really love her face despite how photoshopped it looks. There’s a serene calmness to it and the connection to the camera is powerful. Jordan’s FCO was 100% deserved this week.

2. Paloma

Like her Tigerlily week, Paloma has one of the best face shots of the group. She looks so calm and relaxed and the outstretched body to the side is great. She looks like she’s just relaxing with the winds blowing her over, which is quite beautiful in terms of the theme given. Her expression is so dreamy and the sultry closed eyes is lovely. However, her lower body is really stiff. I wish she bent her body up instead of letting her legs do look stiff off the camera. As for her elimination, I’m up for debate on it. For one, she was a fairly strong model though wildly inconsistent and was a strong contender for the final 3. However, she was far too mentally unwell for the competition so it was probably the best for her to leave.

3. Alice

This photoshoot seemed to be up Alice’s alley so it’s a shame that she disappointed (though she seemed to be doing well on set). She doesn’t seem in control with the set but given the set, she did the best she could. Her body looks great here and she extended her limbs to the very heavens. She made herself taller than she actually is already so that’s a good thing. Her face needs a lot of work though. It’s most the angle of it. She tilted her head far too up and it comes off as her looking expressionless. However, ignoring that, she has a nice dreamy expression on her face and her neck looks long and nice. Alice did fine but not her usual best.

4. Anika

I’m calling this sabotage since Anika definitely had better shots than this from set. Her pose is fine considering how her shot has a different camera angle from the rest. I mostly love the motion of the shot, thus why she isn’t at the bottom. The fabric looks great and the drama of the shot is beautiful. However, that isn’t because of Anika’s modeling. She has an expressionless emotion on her face, which is sad since she knows how to model her face well. Her pose also leaves a lot to be desired. She shorten herself and compacted her legs together. She also looked quite stiff. Again, Anika 100% had better shots but the judges still loved it.

5. Steph H

This is just a mess of a shot. Steph looks so scared here (which is truthful since she has a big fear for heights). What’s with the random arm pose? The arm on the head is trying to look dramatic but it looks more like she’s trying to be edgy but failing. The other arm is overly stiff as well. She also shorten herself more than she already was by bending her leg up and the other leg is stiff as well. This really should’ve been Steph H’s time to leave. She may be Jodhi’s lovechild or whatever but she was falling behind the rest of the girls.
