Something that blew me away when I got to know Mark Webber’s life a little better is the sheer amount of bad luck this guy had. And im not talking about just his team, but the accidents…

Reading Aussie Grit, every second chapter started with something like “but nothing could’ve prepared me for the biggest accident of my career yet”. Reading through that book had me fearing for his life nearly every page. It’s like every accident he had was trying to outdo the previous one. And I know, it’s part of the job, but for context I have read Jenson’s autobiography as well, and he only had like one or two major crashes written down in detail (the car never flipped with him either, happened 3 times to my guy Mark). This is also mind blowing because he never was a particularly reckless driver (tho competitive), and with some of his accidents (see Le Mans ‘99) it is clear that he had no part in it whatsoever.

The universe just had it out for him I guess😭
