About This Song
This one is from the perspective of Isabella Thorpe, an acquaintance of the main character of Northanger Abbey, Catherine Morland. It's sung to her fiance.
I love this one so much. It's my absolute favourite and it's not because of the book or the character. I just love how matter of fact the song is. It's almost comical.

About This Song
So it turns out I couldn't not do a Dizzie song for Pride and Prejudice. As I was wrapping up the album, this one just spilled out of me.
It's one of the rougher ones in the sense that I was literally still figuring it out when I recorded it (I think you can actually hear that in some places), due to the fact that I recorded it the day after I wrote it while I had been working on some of the others for months.
But I love it so much, it's my precious baby. It's not my favourite song, because that award goes to the album's titular song "All That Glitters", but it is the one I'm most proud of.
The sound quality is questionable though, so if a lovely someone with the skills and equipment would like to remake it, by all means, take it away. I'd love you forever if you tagged me so I could hear it.

I don't know that these are particularly spoilery lyrics, but they're beneath the cut with the chords anyway.

Verse 1
C Am F
Looking back I can barely believe it
C Am F
It was in fact a miserable evening

About This Song
It took me forever to write a Pride and Prejudice song, and it honestly surprised me when I realized that writing one on Ms Jane Bennet would be the easiest. Finishing it, however, took a minute.
Pride and Prejudice is about this family with five daughters who are very uncertain about their future seeing as the family's estate is entailed to the father's cousin when he dies. As a result, their silly mother has given herself the responsibility of marrying off all five of her daughters to secure their future.
Unfortunately, Jane (the eldest: quiet, kind, a little naive, and genuinely too good for this world) and Lizze (second eldest: witty, intelligent, and a self-proclaimed great judge of character) are the only reasonable members of their household for most of the story and there definitely are some hiccups in even their reasonableness.
This is one of my all time favourite Austen stories. It's funny and it's satisfying and I have so many thoughts and feelings about it. So I'm relieved that this turned out to be one of my fave songs.

About This Song
This one is another tidbit based on Lady Susan's Frederica Vernon. I rushed through this so there wouldn't be any spoilers when I watched Love & Friendship, but I never actually ended up watching Love & Friendship. So my memory is pretty foggy, but I could not figure out how to write Lady Susan, so Frederica it was.
P.S. did anyone else finish the Love & Friendship novella (which is a separate story from Lady Susan) and go WTH???

About This Song
This is another short one from the perspective of the titular character of Austen's Emma. I relate to Emma so hard in terms of meaning well and then creating bigger messes for everyone involved T.T But I love that we get to see her grow (at least I'll have to take the movie adaptations' word for it until I finally finish the book).
P.S. It was also kinda' serendipitous (though there was some finagling involved) because I had started writing this song even before I decided to make the Austen Challenge album an Ada Album and would you look at that? Alright is Ada's new single at the beginning of CAFS. Ezra listens to it on the radio in Chapter 1.

About This Song
This is based on Fanny Dashwood from Sense & Sensibility, who could essentially be considered the villain of the story.
I have to admit that I've never finished Sense & Sensibility, though I've started it multiple times. I don't even know if I've ever completely watched any of the adaptations (I remember the beginning and the ending for the Emma Thompson adaptation, but the in between bits are fuzzy). Idk, it's not my favourite Austen story, I guess because I associate it with feelings of anxiety, so I don't know when I'll ever get around to finishing it.
But I took this as an opportunity to do something different and kinda write a villain anthem. This one is also really short, but I do consider it to be complete.

About This Song
This is a really short one inspired by Harriet Smith, a side character in Austen's Emma. I'mma be honest and admit that I've never finished reading Emma. I struggle, mostly because I know the story from watching the movies, and I'm always dreading what's to come.
But essentially Emma is a privileged young woman who lives in the country and is a bit too smart while simultaneously being not wise enough for her and everyone else's good. She decides to take Ms Harriet Smith, a young lady of unknown birth, under her wing and in doing so causes the plot of the story lol.
