Why Do You Like Formula 1?
My simple answer:
Glamour.
There is something about the stage of international motorsport that has enraptured me since the moment I laid eyes upon it. No hyperbole, no exaggeration, no overstatement.
From the cutting edge technology of each flaming chariot to the unmatched wit, bravery and skill of twenty of the most fearless, disciplined, extraordinary men driving them: there is a tenor of excellence, of absolute perfection that is... addicting.
I'm addicted to F1 and I'm not ashamed of it.
I take a hit. I view a press conference, I tune into an interview. I study a highlight. I check the standings. I enjoy a podcast. It gives me a wondeful feeling.
I feel expensive.
Sophisticated.
Included.
I feel glamourous.
All of this euphoria and I have not attended a single race in the flesh.
I get goosebumps knowing that this weekend, twenty glamorous people, and their perfect company will be less than three hours away from me, in my state, in my country, competing in a sport I love to be a part of. It truly is an experience I find new and exciting, not like anything else I've ever felt before.
So why Formula 1?
It's given me a feeling that I don't ever want to stop feeling.
