So as iconic as this image is for me:
I thought for the new year I'd try and make some kinda author logo for my 2024 writeblr re-intro. I've looked at other logos and author taglines. I am not a designer by any means, so my design may be a bit. Hm. Not Good. That being said, this is what I think I'm going to go with after playing around:
I know I wanted a circular design with golds/whites/blacks/neutral colors as that's just the vibe I get from my works for the most part. For me, readability is also really important so I also made sure that I chose font I can actually read.
As for my author tagline, I really went through a lot of different ideas. it's still a wip... but I do like "Break the Cycle" to go with the broken and messy circle design. Originally I was going to do something in relation to monsters, but I feel more than monsters, my works are also usually about breaking some sort of cycle the characters are trapped in; whether its the cycle of abuse, mental illness, or just day-to-day boring life.
I myself find I work in a cyclical pattern. Most likely due to trauma and my own mental illnesses. And it really effects my every day life as not all of my routines are healthy or good for me. A lot of times I dream of something happening to break such a cycle. Sometimes positively, sometimes negatively. And I feel that theme, more than that of love or monsters, really resonates through all my works.
