Some good news out of Oklahoma...
//...I don't know if me writing political commentary might ever become A Thing...but you know that story about the "School Superintendent" ordering all the schools to make the students and their parents watch his video about a new Department of 'Religious Freedom and Patriotism'...??
Yeah, a whole bunch of those schools just said NOPE, HARD PASS.
There's also THIS little gem of a quote from the article, which just might speak volumes about the situation on the ground:
"The office of state Attorney General Gentner Drummond issued a statement Friday saying Walters has no authority under state law to issue such a mandate.
“Not only is this edict unenforceable, it is contrary to parents’ rights, local control and individual free-exercise rights,” the statement said."
So let me get this right in my head, now...the political party who is SUPPOSED to be all about parental rights, free speech in the public sphere, and states' rights...now has to destroy those same rights in order to save them?
Definitely food for thought in the days to come.
