suggestions for paper on fanfiction needed
Suggestions for paper on fanfiction needed
SO i have pretty much decided to do my BA honors paper on fan fiction as a Neo-Romantic movement, focusing on the motivations of love and emotion as the primary reasons for writing it.
I NEED ADVICE THOUGH
Although I’m an English major and there are no Celtic Studies classes at my school (UChicago, though I may possibly do a term abroad at TCD), I am planning to do my MA in Welsh Studies focusing on literature of the very late 18th and early 19th century, and my PhD on comparative Celtic literature also of the Romantic period. I would therefore like to incorporate Celtic Studies into my BA as much as I can.
SO does anyone know of any Celtic or Authurian literature (from any time period, written either in English, or with an English translation available) (also not stuff that's specifically for say BBC Merlin, this is going to focus on literature fandoms) that has a fandom and/or has had fan fiction written about it?
I may also look into adaptations and retellings in professionally published literature (such as the retelling of Branwen in A Swiftly Tilting Planet), but my main focus will be on amateur writing freely available online, or in a zine I can still get my hands on. So links to where I can find any of the above as well as a description of what it is and where I can find the original source material if it’s not well known, and/or what translation(s) are typically used in academia.
Thank You!
