So guys, Let's talk about smthg very serious... Let's talk about "autism outings as an adult" and "the families reaction/support/acceptance". Four weeks before I had to deal with a very traumatizing event, with my whole family involved. So... Late diagnosed autistics out there... how was your outing and the reaction of your relatives?
All went well, my family accepted the diagnosis and was very understanding.
Some of them could not understand it
They didn't accept that they should change their behavior towards me.
They thought I was just trying to make myself important or get more attention.
They didn't wanted to accept it and ignored the whole topic.
Smthg really traumatizing happened and now they don't want contact with me.
For them I will always be "the problem".
