Coworker: Are you okay?
My autistic ass, having one of the three days a week where I shouldn't be forced to leave my house because I can see the future, every sound is a colour and the muppet in my head is screaming as soon as someone approaches me: *vibrates violently* Yes why do you ask
Maybe I read a bit deep into it but?
When we enter Adeline’s room, her first reaction is ‘is that you, Lady Maria?’ - and we do walk in silently. So maybe it is a common thing for Maria to appear without a greeting and just do the stuff in the room?
But also, Adeline calls the key Maria gave to her ‘a charm’ and it is said that Adeline did not understand what Maria hoped it’d do, which makes me think maybe Adeline did not as much as ever used that key? And Maria, perhaps, just handed it to her, hoping she’d understand the hint where she wants her to go unexplained?
So like... selective mutism Maria?? Thumbs up, thumbs down?
When I say something is 'stressful', a lot of neurotypical people assume I have a lot on my plate.
I often don't even mean that. 'Stressful' can mean that I keep getting in trouble for not knowing or misinterpreting social rules. 'Stressful' can mean having to do something that doesn't play into my abilities. 'Stressful' sometimes is just getting 7 hours of sleep instead of 8. It can mean a change in routine, a social conflict, my needs being ignored.
So when people hit me with 'This isn't stressful, you're just dramatic' its very hard to remember that this is their standard, not mine.
Neurotypicals are so unreal like imagine being able to just start watching a random movie or series
You know as ironic as it is
Support workers are meant to make me be able to access life better
All they’ve done is made me want to hermit more
