The Conoco Motel opened in 1938 and was owned by the Bourne family. They named their motel (then an auto court) after the Conoco service station they also operated, located next door. It was later called the Colonial Motel. The buildings still stand but are no longer used as a motel. Located in Ames, Iowa, off the Lincoln Highway.
