Is the Chara Narrator theory canon to your AU?

Yes! In fact, Chara narrator is something I plan to add to the flowerfell regrowth document when I get around to updating it.

Chara's "narration" Is pretty scaled back, since Frisk is spending most of their time with Flowey and Sans. But every once in awhile, Frisk does hear Chara's voice during battle encounters or while walking around, in the same way you "hear" Chara's voice while interacting with the enviornment or encountering enemies in Undertale. Chara, invisibly, is following Frisk through the underground. Frisk woke their spirit when they fell.

But the most signifigant way that Chara Narrator impacts the story is during the "game over" screens. When Frisk dies, they're sent to a black void, with a menu asking if they want to continue or quit. Identical to that of undertale's. There is where Chara's ghost visibly resides, and the two can talk there. Although, Chara is very flat, and not very talkative. They usually are quick to usher Frisk back to the living world. Chara has no idea Flowey is Asriel for most of the story. They slowly start to figure it out through random small things Flowey mentions throughout their journey.

Does the main monster gang become friends just like in Undertale (and girlfriends, in Alphys’ and Undyne’s case)?

I like to think yes- but not exactly in the way they do in undertale. Undyne and Alphys DO get together, but they dont start dating till they settle on the surface. Papyrus and Undyne start meeting up regularly to "discuss findings about the human world" but now they just hang out regularly. Relationships are strange in a post-underfell world, as absolutely nobody working for the royal family understands what emotional availibility or openness or kindness is till the fresh surface air starts to make everyone wake up to how fucked up the underground was. It's a slow progression to something that appears like a regular friendship of some kind.

Papyrus is not too fond of Alphys, and Undyne absolutely LOATHES Mettaton, who Papyrus is infatuated with. Theres a lot of complicated feelings in the group, haha.

When Sans and Papyrus make up, Papyrus and Toriel meet, and somehow, against all odds, they get along. Papyrus has also had a few run ins with Asriel- who asks Papyrus a few times how to fight after getting in trouble at school.

Alphys and Sans, as mentioned in the doc, still bicker like an old divorced couple, but if you were to put a broken machine in front of the two of them and said "fix it" then by god they would lock in and get it done. While arguing the whole time.

Asriel avoids Alphys at all costs.

I’m finally starting to kick my artblock after like a month 😭 so today I thought I’d do some refining on how I want Undyne to look. This isn’t final, I straight up forgot to add her scars at the end, but these took forever to edit cleanly (they’re all jumbled with other doodles on a big page)

I really enjoy rendering the face, if you cannot tell :)

Undyne is batshit insane. She can be sweet to a lucky (or maybe unlucky) few, and used manic energy as her driving motivation every day. She’s over the top and bombastic on her good days, but on her bad days, she gets upset and violent (more than usual) and takes it out on others. Papyrus is her favorite sparring partner, as he actually stands a chance against her. Asgore doesn’t train with her anymore, and the other royal guards got sick of getting injured and beaten repeatedly. Papyrus beat her in combat once- but just once. That was the day Undyne promoted him from a sentry to her right hand man.

Undyne is friends with the royal scientist, Alphys, but can never get her to hang out or fight or do anything outside the laboratory. Undyne’s thematically clashing scrunchie that holds up her ponytail was a gift from her.

Undyne is a sort of local celebrity, and has set a trend for what the younger generations of monsters consider scary and threatening. Those who follow Undyne’s battle trends may try to embody her terrifying energy by filing their teeth to look sharper, wearing more spikes, flaunting battle scars, and incorporating images of bleeding hearts or broken souls in their fashion. Teenagers especially like to wear more red and black. Older generations of monsters more commonly follow the trend Asgore set, by making yourself look and feel as large and imposing as possible, while also slipping under the radar. While the color red is still popular, older generations tend to wear almost all black with hints of yellow, and prefer a sleeker look compared to the spikes and flashy patterns of Undyne.

Undyne won’t admit this, but she got a lot of her inspiration for her outfits from the cartoons she watches with Alphys.

Undyne acts a lot like azula from avatar, in my mind? Relentless and cunning but also kinda falling apart.

Includes: frisks eyes (which they struggle to open fully on command), angst, some sketches I don’t think many people saw I posted cause I hid them under a cut, and more. I even included some recent doodles of the spin off au I mentioned in my last ramble post, and I have some more if anybody is interested! :)

I am not dead! However work, college, and the amazing digital circus have completely obliterated my brain!

Ive been working on the doc on and off when i can. The project itself is so big, it’s a couple rewritten sections away from just being a fully developed fan fiction. 😭 like,,, the bullet points are almost an aesthetic choice at this point.

Flowerfell Regrowth is a passion project ive worked on and off for nearly 5 years, way before i ever made a tumblr blog. It will definitely be finished at some point, but, those of you who have been through this blog since the beginning know i tend to dissapear for half a year and then come back swinging when i can.

To those of you who have submitted asks that remain unanswered, i (or the characters) will answer them when i am able to! I appreciate your patience with me :)

I havent forgotten flowerfell regrowth. Ive actually been doodling my blorbos in my spare time- as i have been since middle school, lol
