especially green day (I know and like the popular ones and a few random ones) and I think I heard you talk about the killers? I'm interested in them as well :)

I listened to don't shoot me santa by them so many times last christmas 😭

Now let’s do two sections. This is going to be a rant. You’ve brought this upon yourself. I love yapping about music.

(This is just gonna be about the killers and Green Day. If you want other music stuff with various random bands just send another ask)

-THE KILLERS-

So with the killers their most famous song is definitely Mr. Brightside. It’s a little overplayed but still good. Don’t shoot me Santa, which you mentioned, is one of my favorite Christmas songs. Fair warning, the majority of their songs don’t really sound like that if that’s what you were hoping for.

Now I’m going to specifically talk about the album hot fuss. It’s one of my favorite albums of all time and not only for the more popular songs. Also??? The vinyl for it??? Is??? Absolutely gorgeous???

Okay so for my FAVORITE song of theirs it has to be “everything will be alright” it’s definitely not everyone’s thing but I just love it SO much I usually fall asleep to it and it’s so nice to play on guitar. Fantastic song in my opinion. His voice in it reminds me a bit of the clash? It’s not at all like their music but the voice? Idk so if you like the clash that’s good

“Glamorous indie rock and roll” I found out about later than everything else. For some reason it’s not on the vinyl? But the lyric “let’s cause a scene, like lovers do on silver screens” always fucking gets me so yeah

“Midnight show” I highly recommend, though if you get uncomfortable with songs about sex that is very blatantly what this one is about. It’s not terrible but just a general warning. Besides that it’s a great song

Some of my other favorites from that album: “smile like you mean it”, “Andy, you’re a star” (<- that one’s gay), and yeah the entire Christmas album is good.

-GREEN DAY-

I LOVE GREEN DAY SO MUCH OH MY GOD I HAVE SO MANY POSTERS AND THE MAJORITY OF THE VINYLS AND I DID AN ENGLISH PROJECT ON BILLIE ALONG WITH SEVERAL ART PROJECTS AND HOLY SHITTTTT

OK. SO.

Obviously American idiot. The whole album. It’s the most obvious choice but I don’t think im legally allowed to talk about fantastic Green Day music without saying American idiot.

My favorite like? Underrated song? Probably “troubled times” off the revolution radio album. The lyrics always hit hard and I’ve seen some good art for it. Sadly i don’t hear it as much.

I also HIGHLY recommend the “warning:” album. Ever listened to “Macy’s day parade” while crying? Yeah. “Minority” is one most people have heard but I still love it. Though it always gets stuck in my head which kinda sucks.

“CHURCH ON SUNDAY”???? OH MY GOD??? THIS SOMG??? YES. LISTEN TO IT. I love it sm

Also I love “blood, sex, and booze” but that obviously might not be your thing. Rather graphic and talks about some abuse? Kind of? It’s kind of consensual but it’s still abuse? Idk.

Ok next album is “saviors”. It’s a work of art, what else do I have to say? I recently heard “one eyed bastard” live and I CANNOT listen to the song the same way in the best way possible. Always a banger. “The American dream is killing me” always fucking SLAPS (my favorite line is ‘kiss me I’m dead inside’) especially right now with… whatever’s going on rn. But the entire album is amazing.

Dookie is similar to American idiot in this case. It’s absolutely fantastic but it’s well enough known that I don’t know if I really have to go in depth here. If you haven’t listened to the whole track though- definitely do that. It was my first vinyl so I have a special spot in my heart for it.

“Uno”, “dos”, and “tre” are also great albums, though I don’t tend to listen to them as much, along with Kurplunk. This is mostly me being biased because I like all their albums but I realized I should probably answer the ask instead of doing more for all the albums
