headcanons for Minecraft player species ✨
All players are glitches in the code; they were never meant to exist. They exist in the world, and when the world ends, they get deleted. Luckily certain players, such as the Hermitcrafters, have figured out that the dragon egg is the main code and they can alter it so they can move from world to world.
This also means that within certain species they change when the world changes
anyways, species!
HYBRIDS:
in the place of overworld mobs, these half human, half animal players spawn instead. they typically have the ears, tail, or other features of the animal they are mixed with (ex. bird hybrids have wings). they also gain the skills of the animal, such as a great sense of smell. these are the most common species because it's very easy to get the code mixed up. also, in the event that they can move to another world, they are able to change their hybrids to other animals.
HUMANS:
they're just humans. no special powers or abilities, they just spawn in the overworld. these are fairly common as well.
NETHERLINGS:
these are pretty much the same as hybrids except they spawn in the nether and are fused with nether mobs. they get resistance to fire, lava, and heat in general, and they can also change species in new worlds. it's not very common though, because they are just typically piglins and hoglins.
END VOIDLINGS:
these players spawn in the end void, and are basically just advanced endermen. they can teleport, but it's very limited (compared to actual endermen). because they're in the end, they are much better at controlling the world's code. they also have long tails to feel in the dark, and its also helpful for when it's too bright in the overworld.
OVERWORLD VOIDLINGS:
*I'm gonna preface this by saying that I play bedrock and the overworld void is literally the sky, not black like java*
overworld voidlings have giant white wings, a tail, and have a very long lifespan. unfortunately, most die quickly because they have to find their way up to the surface, which is hard with the bedrock. they are very light and pair well with wind charges, but they have a hard time in the dark.
ELEMENTALS:
players with elemental powers (:O)! they typically have some component of them made of that element or with a related design. they can also change elements in new worlds. Elements: fire/lava, water, nature (moss or pale moss), air/wind, stone
SHAPESHIFTERS:
this species is super rare, and it's hard to tell if they are one because most of them never change worlds. they have the chance to change species when they go to a new world, but they can't choose. if they train, however, they can make small changes to themselves. they cannot transform into skulklings or elementals.
SKULKLINGS:
these players spawn in the place of wardens, which makes them the rarest of all. it isn't so much a species as a harmless infection, so you can be any overworld-spawning species as well. it isn't contagious except to undead mobs or undead hybrids. this gives you great night vision and hearing as well
and for life series fans, we as watchers are also glitches in the code but it managed to banish us to spectator mode unfortunately :/
