That was always the idealized shape. In truth, it’s the shape of whatever bowl you let it cook in. But I should let actual Brit cooks explain. I’ve only ever had it once, and it was...good. But I don’t have the same associations with it from growing up. My favorite part, though, is that when you serve it, you’re supposed to smother it in liquor (probably brandy or something similar) and then set it on fire. Sweet.

What’s your favorite snack?
Thanks for asking! It's tough to say, but I'm going to say chicken strips with fries.
I like various other things, such as, red licorice and chocolate cake! @maddiehatteras @auttoton

"It's spicy," he says, spooning the chili into the largest bowls they have - shoddily-made clay with their initials engraved on each one. He takes his bowl from Jesse, metal hand touching metal hand.
"Nothing I can't handle, Jesse," Genji retorts, holding the bowl close. The cooking has saturated the kitchen with the smell of chili powder and roasted meat, but it's especially enticing now that it's right in front of him. His spoon clinks against the side as he waits for Jesse to sit down next to him with his own bowl. Pepperoni mewls somewhere behind him, no doubt waiting for her own dinner. He'll feed her soon.
"I'm sure you can, sweetheart," Jesse says as he slides into his chair, spoon already digging in. "I added extra just to suit your taste. Do you like it?"
The first bite is already filling: chili beans and beef and corn and a couple other ingredients he can't decipher, and then the chili powder hits, burns plesantly after he's swallowed. He can tell it's more than Jesse usually puts (although his boyfriend doesn't shy away from most spicy dishes, he just prefers them in moderation).
"It's delicious," Genji says between bites, his left hand reaching next to him for Jesse's right while they eat. "This is so good, honey. You're a fantastic cook."
Jesse's cheeks go dark, as they always do when Genji turns the pet names on him. "Geeze, thanks darling. You just always treat me right, wanted to do somethin' for you."
Genji smiles. "I could never ask for anything more. I have everything I need here. You." Meow. "And Pepperoni." Mew. "And Olive."
He chuckles, glancing at the orange tabby and her black and white brother. "I'll feed ya in a sec, sweeties," he says as his thumb rubs circles into Genji's hand. "But I appreciate that. You make me such a lucky man."
"Don't get cheesy, cowboy." Genji says, leaning over so his head rests against Jesse's shoulder.
"Darling, honeybunches, dear, you know you love it."
