yeah! so like this problem: 5p-14=8p+4 like what do i do first and second and on.
Okay so first you want to get all the variables on one side and the constants on the other, like this:
-18=3p
(I subtracted 4 and 5p from both sides, because whatever you do to one you have to do to the other.)
And then you'd simplify it like any other problem and end up with p= -6
