#autumn concept

I would give anything to be nestled in my little cottage in the woods while a thunderstorm rages outside. All of the lights are off, but candles are lit and filling the space with warm spices and crisp leaves. Soup simmers gently on the stove and bread bakes slowly in the oven. A cozy show or movie plays on the TV. I'm contemplating starting a fire in the hearth.

autumn concept: rain is pouring down the windows, inside there is a warm glow of candlelight. fuzzy socks on your feet. a blanket draped over you to keep warm. netflix is on and you're having a cup of tea. all is good and cozy

Concept: It’s a sunny bright october day, one of the last warm ones we’ll have. I took the day off work and am sitting in my yard with a good book and a mocha while my dog takes a nap in a sun-warmed pile of leaves. Everything about this day is perfect.

concept: us, the sun is setting in a million shades of pink and orange, and the leaves around us are red. we found this clearing after hiking new trails. you're only in town for the weekend, but we've made the most of our time together. i'll see you again in six months.

i'm all about those autumn feelings with the foggy morning walks and feeling the chilly air deep in your lungs and shivering just a bit and an open window letting crisp, wonderful air in and the soft pattering of rain on cobblestone streets and black pavement contrasting with bright, fiery trees and the sound of leaves being blown around and the thought of books to be read with the company of warm tea and cozy sweater paws and thick knit socks and just autumn

fall activities with Tom Holland™

You guys would kick off the season by going for a walk and collecting leaves and acorns and pinecones together 

And then comparing your collections when you get back home

Two words: Pumpkin. Patch. 

Making homemade cider with apples from the orchard behind his house 

Him surprising you with a new, beautiful cozy scarf, hat, and mittens set. 

Snuggling under his favorite blanket with the window cracked so it's nice and cool but you guys are warm and toasty curled up together 

you fall asleep on his chest to the sound of a movie playing in the background and the rise and fall of his breathing while he strokes your hair

Being asked to rake up the leaves in the front yard--he rakes them all up in a pile and dares you to jump in them. 

you do, and while leaves fly everywhere, he's laughing so hard there's no noise coming out and he's crying 

You go to a farmer’s market together and buy candy apples

On a particularly chilly night, he makes a fire from scratch out in the backyard

while he proudly brags about it, you roast him some marshmallows and you two cuddle and share s’mores 

There's a haunted house in town, which Tom begs you to go to with him. 

you do--but he's the one who's screaming and jumping into your arms while you laugh and laugh and laugh 

Corn mazes!! 

One morning, you get up before he does and put the teakettle on. You're looking out the window at the fog creeping down the street, and his arms come around you from behind and he peppers your skin with kisses. 

those kisses turn heated, until you jump apart when the kettle starts to whistle 

you spend the rest of the morning sipping tea together quietly 

Carving pumpkins!! 

he's definitely more talented at carving than you are 

he carved his to look like Spider-Man 

You spend quite a few afternoons reading quietly together. You’ll be sitting at the window flipping through one of your favorite books, he’ll be seated cross-legged on the couch going over his latest script. 

every now and then one of you will look up at the other, get an overwhelming sense of adoration and admiration

random whispered “I love you’s” 

You love stealing his cozy flannels 

and his sweatshirts

and a pair of pink fuzzy socks that he refuses to show anyone but you 

Decorating for Halloween!

he brings out a coveted “Spooky Jams” CD from like, the 90s 

while you do most of the decorating, he sings and dances and makes your heart sing 

Passing out candy to the little kiddies on Halloween 

he gives extra candy to all of the lil Spider-Mans

The twins dressed up as Mario and Luigi 

When November rolls around, the two of you are out shopping for groceries together. Everything is decorated with pumpkins, turkeys, and leaves. 

as you’re reaching down to pick up a can of pumpkin to make a pie, Tom discreetly pinches your bum, and disguises your squeal with a loud cough. 

“babe, my family wants you around for Thanksgiving,” he’ll tell you as you’re waiting in line to pay, making your cheeks blush 

As autumn comes to a subtle end, being replaced by flakes of snow, you spend the last day together going for one last walk, collecting leaves and acorns and pinecones. 

He kisses you slowly as the snowflakes stick to your scarf, leaving you wishing autumn would never end.

Concept: A crisp fall wind whistles through an open window of an old cabin. Coffee perks in an old stove percolator and the smell of wet leaves and baking bread fill the air. You lean against the bottom of a dutch door looking out at the morning as the sun yawns, stretching its beams over a mountain range. You scratch your opposite ankle with the toe of your right foot, feeling the scruff of snug wool socks against your skin. This particular October morning is almost as beautiful as the sleepy face of the one grabbing your mug from the cupboard. Her drowsy eyes open and close slowly as the sun caresses her skin. Through the light of the open window, you can make out the flush of rosy cheeks, the perfect shadow to the constellations of copper freckles speckled across her nose. Her hair, a golden haystack on top of her head. She pushes up the sleeves of your sweater that she wears to sleep although it swallows her up. She pours the coffee and you wonder how it is you found yourself to be so lucky.

I want to live in a village where...

- The smell of cinnamon and decaying leaves is laced with the wind.

- Flannels and boots are the norm.

- It's cold 6 months out of the year.

- There are tiny coffee shops that sell specialty drinks and pastries and are warm and smell delicious.

- The leaves turn bright red and orange and rustle in the cool breeze.

- Real pumpkin patches exist under grey skies.

- Real hay rides through haunted fields.

- Scarecrows haunt fields and crows caw loudly in the trees.

- Large cemeteries sit ominously on hills.

- A train rumbles through the mountain valley once and a while.

- There's always a street carnival or festival during the fall on the weekends.

- There were old fashioned style boutiques and candy shops.

- A bookstore tucked into an alley and filled with dusty old copies of classics as well as new things.

- Halloween was THE holiday.

- Witches sometimes roamed the streets.

- When Halloween rolls around everyone gives each other knowing looks as they pass in the streets.

- Sometimes there's strange bonfires coming from the mountain side.
