@pandalilymicrofics July Challenge Day 29: Maze (WC: 330)
“What about this one?”
Pandora looks down at the pumpkin, wondering if it might wilt under Lily’s scrutinizing gaze. She knows she would if she was the pumpkin.
“Can you lift it? It looks a bit big.”
Pandora rolls her eyes, leaning down to pick it up- only to prove her girlfriend right in the end. They had been at this for about half an hour now. Every single pumpkin either one of them had picked has had something wrong with it according to the other. Too heavy, not orange enough, not smooth enough, evidence of bugs, too small.
This would be their first Halloween as a couple and they both desperately wanted everything to be perfect.
Lily huffed exasperatedly, the chill air making her breath momentarily visible. They were the last two still perusing the patch, and if they didn’t hurry the hay rack ride would leave without them.
Sure enough, in the following fifteen minutes it took the couple to find a set of perfectly sized pumpkins they agreed on, the hay rack had deserted the patch and Lily knew the next one wasn’t coming for at least another ten minutes.
“These ones will make lovely Jack O’ Lanterns. Do you know what you’re going to carve into yours yet? I’m trying to decide between a fairy princess pumpkin and mad scientist pumpkin.”
Lily chuckled, warmly this time, shifting the pumpkin onto one arm so that she could lock the other with Pandora’s. Leave it to her brillant girlfriend to immediately improve her mood, perhaps unintentionally, but perhaps not. Pandora was always more observant than most gave her credit for.
“It seems we’re walking back now. There’s a short cut, or we could kill two birds with one stone and take the long way through the corn maze?”
Pandora’s eyes widened in admiration, “You’d brave the haunted corn maze for me?”
“Always.”
Because maybe, thought Lily, it was the unpredictable imperfections of life that made it so special.
Autumn date where we go to a pumpkin patch and pick out our favorite pumpkins. Maybe we drink some apple cider or pumpkin spice coffee. After we get our pumpkins, we go home and carve them. Ending our time looking at our lit up pumpkins while cuddling together and drinking hot drinks.
since it almost halloween, i want to carve pumpkin with you and bring them to the pumpkin patch. we can just talk to each other and enjoy the autumn weather
Ok but autumn cemetery dates are me and my life and I'm living for them bc me u the ghosts and thats it???? us wandering around finding some of the older graves from the 17th century and leaving flowers because no one has come to visit them in a while???? chattering abt cute things???? s c a r v e s a n d s w e a t e r s??? trying to make sure no ghosts are lonely???? hot cocoa or warm cider or coffee???? hand holding while wearing gloves??? all of the above sign me up
it is that time of year again! 🍂 leaf fall is just around the corner. tag your mutuals and take them out on cozy autumn-themed dates! ~ ☕️♡

@maaatryoshka: Gotta put the true ship first uwu! Erin and I would probably go on a city date and go to a not so fancy Asian restaurant. We would talk and laugh throughout the entire meal and then go to a nearby city park to only continue to talk LOL. Fuzzy jackets are a must and when the chilly autumn breeze blows, I’d take off my jacket and put it on her 😉💞
@realstraykids: I’d take em to a cute cafe and we’d bond over some hot chocolate or coffee ☕. We’d also go to a local pastry shop and buy some tiny cakes 😊 It would be a late night date though, so then after the food we can go to the top of a hill and watch the sunset as autumn leaves float around in the sky. While walking down the street someone would ask if we were sisters and we’d laugh it off but lie and say “Yeah, she’s the best sister I could ever ask for.”
@aquarinnie: Cici wouldn’t go on an outdoor date with me 😔 But that’s OK! We’d watch sappy Chinese dramas at night next to the fireplace with all the lights off while sharing a cozy blanket. There would be snacks and drinks and we’d try to watch the drama in peace but end up yelling and complaining about the characters and plot points that we hate 😅 Luckily, most of our opinions would match :^)
@hey-hey-chan & @felixthekoala: We would go on a triple date!!!!!! 💖💖💖 It would be a date in Boston (hehe cuz we’ve already had dates in Seattle 😉) and I would take them to a museum (HAH GET IT?) and I’d open that door for them (😉😉😉) We’d go on a drive in the afternoon and blast music in the car while laughing and telling each other stories about life. After dinner, we would sit around a campfire in the late autumn air and make s’mores while talking even more 💗💗
@gayracha: RINI! MY LOVE! I’d take Rini to an aquarium TBH 🐠🌊🐠 Not sure why, it’s just my gut feeling. We’d look at all the cute sea animals and take funny photos next to them too. One would be of both of us next to a puffer fish while puffing out our cheeks and making V signs. We’d have to ask someone to take the photo for us but both of us are too pUssY to do it so it just becomes 1 minute of us going “no you ask >:(” and eventually we’d both go up awkwardly to someone LOL.
@seungmqn: I’d take Astrella to see the stars 🌟🌟🌟 We’d walk down a forest path while playing soft music from a speaker and talking about things that we both like (which is a lot!! 😘) At the end of the path, there would be a pond that reflects the night sky. The stars and the moon would shake in the ripples of the water and we would throw little pebbles in while continuing to converse. I’d bring a blanket and Astrella would bring some binoculars. We’d both lie down on the blanket and fall asleep while looking at the autumn night sky.
@bangs-chan: I’d take Leah to an amusement park 😁💓 I’d drag her onto the merry go round for the nth because I don’t like roller coasters and we’d get those cute animal ear headbands and take goofy photos of each other. We’d share a big ice cream while sitting at a bench and looking out for cute guys 👀😏 At the end of the day both of us would have sore throats because of all the laughing :’)
@doublekn0t: J! My queen! I would take J to a bookstore 📚📚 first and we’d go around suggesting books for each other. We’d do the thing where you have to open to a random page and then read the first sentence you see. Eventually we’d both pick a suitable books for each other and head to a quiet tea shop and read for hours. Whenever something interesting happens in the book, we’d giggle and tap each other on the shoulder while reading the line out loud.
@hwangs: Nicolle and I would head to the mall😏. We’d be so loud while going from store to store, trying on the dumbest clothes but not buying anything. Many photos would be taken and eventually we’d end up at a petstore (somehow lol) and buy things for Manny (bc hes so cute and precious uwu) Bubble tea after shopping and then we’d take aesthetic photos of the bright autumn trees. Nicolle would then go home to make some SICK GFX and send them to me. Cue my crying :’)
