How do you think Vox and VoxTek would be different in the present had Alastor said yes? It is my personal headcanon that Al would have him on a leash. Look at how he acts 70 years after being rejected, still desperate for approval and susceptible to the world’s most see-through manipulation tactics just cause it comes from Alastor. Vox that didn’t have his vulnerability shut down and mocked would be so easy for Alastor to manipulate, he’d have him wrapped around his finger. I can almost imagine the positive equivalent of the humiliation montage happening.
I looooove AV AUs and anything related so I was really excited about this question and my answer got a little long so I'm putting it under the cut LOL
In a world where they're in business together and both genuinely consider each other equals, I think Vox and Alastor would be great partners! They have a lot in common, but their differences also compliment each other really well.
Alastor would be able to keep Vox grounded, make sure the goals they're trying to achieve are realistic (he'd shut down anything remotely akin to the "LET'S TAKE OVER HEAVEN!" plan immediately). It would be perfect, because Vox desperately needs someone who will stop him in his tracks when he starts acting delulu, but it also has to be someone he respects enough to listen to (i.e. Alastor). I also think that the general quality of their company's creative ventures would be a priority of Alastor's. He has high standards, so the shows, movies, etc. their company put out would probably be a LOT better than the ones VoxTek makes in canon lol
On the flip side, I think Vox would help keep Alastor motivated and inspired. You know how in the official playbill, Alastor says he does his radio show "whenever he feels like it"? How he generally does things completely on a whim just for the entertainment value? That's where Vox comes in. He brings structure and security to Alastor's life, but he does it in a way that prevents Alastor from getting bored by that structure and security. And yes, Vox would be absolutely hopelessly wrapped around Al's finger- which I think would also be great for Alastor! I think initially in this scenario, he'd still be very guarded, but he enjoys Vox's company and worst case scenario, if Vox ever betrays him he can just kill him and move on. But after decades of faithful partnership and Vox bending over backwards to make him happy, he'd EVENTUALLY have to accept the fact that someone genuinely cares about him and has done more than enough to earn his trust. I think that would do wonders for his issues with trust and vulnerability (though it would be a very slow process).
As for how VoxTek would be different- the name, of course. I also think they'd be more focused on media than technology/products, for sure. And, as previously mentioned, the content they produce would have to be up to Al's standards, rather than smutty or sensationalized cash grabs. I could imagine Velvette joining the company eventually, but I don't think Al would ever be willing to work with V*lentino lol

They're like EXTREMLY obnoxious as a couple, partly because they know they make people uncomfortable as hell and THRIVE off it, partly because they're both possessive obsessive bastards that can NOT get enough of each other (I hate them)
They play up their relationship and like flirting a lot in public to one, show they're a united front, and two, to stake their claim and make other uncomfy (as I said)
However, they genuinely DO just like flirting and messing with each other a lot however it just that the WAY they flirt is just DIABOLICAL and is a special kind of freak only they fw

ANYWAYS THIS IS BEACUSE!!! Vox has HORRIBLE internalized misogyny and homophobia and like an overall really warped view of gender roles, so in this AU he lowkey just ends up feminizing himself as like the ultimate sign of submission to Alastor, especially since they're married and he has a very specific view on marriage, think very 50s housewife
This also ties into like the idea of ownership??? In the way "traditional" marriages were view like that (..,,,.am i making sense,,,,)
Radiostatic has got some fucked up 24/7 Dom/Sub relationship going on so Vox really prioritizing being owned by Alastor in EVERY way possible (Alastor possibly even owns his soul but that's something for only them to know)
Alastor doesn't really catch the vibe on this thought process btw, he just thinks Vox is doing that because he wants to (which... yeah, no one's forcing him)
Alastor has like completely control of Vox's everyday life beacuse they're freaks like that which is why Vox has a sliglty less modren appearence (his head)
They also lowkey make each other worse but that's a whole nother rant and this post is already WAYYYY to long

going through your dnd au ideas and honestly the idea of both Sam and Jenna independently making the gayest characters they can and I just imagine their characters being on the opposite ends of the queer spectrum like a jaskier bard and a vax warlock and in my head they're both definitely tieflings

I have this idea rotating around in my head and I need to share the vision. Either AV au or canon Radiostatic (let’s say the latter had a truce or something) are forced to fight in a pretty big turf war and it’s shit hits the fan levels of chaotic, and Vox ends up taking a blow for Alastor. He walks it off and pretends it’s fine and soon they manage to be the last ones standing in fucked up Pentagram city surrounded by carnage for the upteenth time lol. Alastor is pretty satisfied but then Vox suddenly rests himself on Al’s shoulder. He teases him and tells him lift himself off of him, but Vox doesn’t move. Or speak. Alastor tries again but the TV demon is strangely silent. Alastor starts getting annoyed and pushes him but to his shock, Vox completely falls to the ground, tv screen shut off. His injury is bleeding out. Alastor for the first time is frozen in place. Still trying to process what exactly he’s looking at. Then a quiet “…Vincent?”

All recent developments just made me even more sure that if Vox were to meet a version of him who was successful in getting together with Alastor he’d lose his fucking mind. Especially if he realizes all this mess just happened because of one misunderstanding and that his alternate(s?) dodged it by simply changing a small detail like the intent or approach, either by continuing to patiently pursue Alastor after rejection adapting to what will make Alastor respond positively or just not making a business proposal at all, choosing to keep things unofficial (they were pretty much already partners) to later establish something down the line or just confessing his feelings.
He’d scream and cry straight up.
YEAH, that uh. Would NOT be a good time for Vox. The S2 finale crashout would look tame in comparison to that breakdown 💀 As if that poor TV needs more reasons to hate himself, finding out that he could've had his dream afterlife if he'd just gone about it differently would fuck him up immensely.
On a related note- I DO think it's likely, if not guaranteed, that Vox will find out everything fell apart because of a misunderstanding in canon. That alone is going to send him spiraling, but it's a necessary first step to get the ball rolling on a reconciliation arc
