#VantageVednesday! 1981 #Vantage #AV325 #Avenger. . After resurrecting my very first #electricguitar from 33 years of hibernation in its case, I have been playing it for the first time in well over 3 decades! I'm not going to pretend it plays and sounds like a '59 burst...but it's a lot better than I thought it would be! The pots are really loose and turn too easily for my taste (no doubt a function of them being incredibly cheap!😆) but the knobs have these ingenious dimples in their tops that makes them easier to grip than your average speed knob. Of course with pots this loose you don't actually need the dimples...but they would work great on a stiffer pot! Next time I restring it (which, based on the historical trends, should be some time in mid 2053!) First string change since 1987! . I finally got around to fixing up my very first #electricguitar, the 1981 #Vantage #AV325 "Avenger". . This guitar has not been out of its case in 33 years! Swipe to see how dirty the frets were. I'm happy to report that the electronics work fine and the guitar sounds pretty darn good! However, next time I restring it I will shim the neck to get the action a little lower than I can by lowering the saddles alone.
