I love Hacks because at least Season One it really feels like the Marcus-Ava-Deborah dynamic is like. The powerful monarch falling in love with some young peasant and bringing them to court and listening to their advice meanwhile the trusted advisor feels scorned as they watch their liege lend their ear to this upstart consort and feel they have no other choice but to drive the pair apart.

//send me a subject and a colour pallette and I'll make you a gifset//
i made this post on twitter so i need to make it here too. i recently finished watching the icarly reboot and poppy liu plays a queer woman in that, she’s played grace, a queer woman in the afterparty, and now i need her character kiki in hacks to end up with ava. this is non-negotiable. get me in that writers room (with fair pay obviously)
wooo i made a playlist for my girl ava of hacks hbo!
rachel maddow’s mechanic: an ava daniels playlist
lots has been said about THE scene obviously, because it was delicious. But can we talk about the way Ava´s voice was on the verge of breaking when she decided to pitch herself to Winnie on the street??? Like I bet it was a bit nerve wracking for her, and maybe in her mind she was finally being shark-ish by approaching an exec. She sounds soooo nervous and got that info out super quick before the valet got there lol. Love her. She surpassed that hurdle only for it to be so moot... villain origin story my beloved.
Did they just…. write an entire episode for them to touch tenderly for an afternoon?
