When you study enough of the Fae magic, Demon magic tends to start showing similarities and typically falls apart when those are taken advantage of." Her last notion had him a bit on the fence.. Yeah, sure, most knowledge should be shared, not locked away. Like telling people most Cleric magic has no material cost and they shouldn't be paying for it. But, there were some specific things... "While I agree most knowledge should be shared.. In a world of magic, where good and evil are not merely concepts, but combatants, some things must be kept from all who would seek them. The most recent major catastrophe was caused by someone unearthing ancient knowledge and unleashing an even more ancient draco-lich from their prison. It was dealt with of course... but it was preventable."

Quiet for most of what he says, she gently bites the end of her pen, pulling it away to write something down in her notebook. 'That sounds troublesome.' She concludes about the unearthing ancient knowledge. Curious, she pats the notebook to the fox and the pen. '... Is that knowledge you can share? I'd like to fully read about it later.'

For now, she changes the subject; 'Have you always been a Wizard?'

Kabartmak would nod and say, "I believe the spell has reached completion. I do not need anything further." He didn't really expect the Library to need to rest, but it was an interesting notion none the less. It made him curious from where or from what it drew its power, seeming to need to regain energy or something. With all the said though, he would think for a bit. There were a lot of gods, but to really narrow down the one with the biggest ego, or most insufferable.. "Well.. They're not a full god, but the Demon Lord Areshkagal is rather annoying. They are the demon lord of portals and riddles, and they tend to be rather full of themself. I think they don't like me, as even they are unable to generate a portal into my shop." To add on to the potential of other visitors, he would brush her once with his tail while sitting next to her and say, "Don't worry to much about a lack of friends. If it is allowed, over time you will likely end up meeting a few of mine. I will of course make sure their arrival is not random or without notice."

The Library warbles in response and then falls quiet.

Ava listens and takes the name in. It sounds like Ereshkigal -- a deity of some kind in another world, but... Moving to pick up her pen and notebook, she starts writing; Areshkagal. Check references for name later against Ereshkigal.

She regards the fox once more and smiles softly. 'Hm. The best way to deal with a riddler is now to outriddle them but to simply give them no answer, I find. Odd logic, I know, but I've had to deal with such things before. It's worked in my favor.'

As he goes onto say about friends, her smile widens and softens; 'Anyone is welcome here as long as they don't try to bring this place harm. Knowledge should not be kept under lock and key.' She flicks her gaze up and around the room before looking to Kabartmak.

He was thankful to see the creature slowly approach, though how he was to share anything he wasn't sure. Under normal circumstances he would sit down, and write the material himself. This, however, was not normal circumstances. He was about to reach out when he heard footsteps. With a soft sigh turn turn his head a bit, though not enough to look directly at her. "One moment." He'd place a hand on the creature's head with a variety of spells in mind, though he would speak in a soft tone unaware that the woman behind him couldn't hear him. Though in case he didn't need to touch the creature he did pull out a book from within the pocket space that his cloak held. "Apologies. The facade you saw will be getting put back into place." He whispered to the creature and hoped the, what he assumed to be, library could hear him.

The creature chuffs loudly, absorbing the information and then, carefully, making sure he was giving the book or not, the creature takes the book in its jaws and moves away, heading for the woman and moving to slowly curl around the back of her and then up along her side, one hand of hers coming to rest on his head.

She blinks once, twice, three times and then just tilts her head. She's waiting to see what this man will do.

The rustle of clothing could be heard as a slender frame stood about the large hall, thin digits sliding over the base of a spine of a particular book which carefully was pulled off the shelf. Taking a moment to let it fall open in her hands, long light blonde locks moved with her as she looked as if she might hum, but no, she was silent as the grave.

Moving a bit to her left, her back remains to the entrance of this Library itself. Eyes like a winter frost scan over the contents of the book, and a page flips in the quiet.

For the most part, this woman believes no one is in this place with her. Little does she know, she's quite wrong.

"That is true. God's have agendas and morals and egos, just like mortals... Some with ego bigger than others.. but some are humble, like Nocticula. They used to be a demon lord of assassins, but through a long story, they achieved redemption and became the Redeemer Queen, god of redemption." The old fox would look over to the door as it became fully solid. It seemed as if the spell was complete, and the "connection" established. "If I meet them again, I could ask the raven if they would like to visit here if you want. They are a bit eccentric, but fairly 'grounded' in reality.. I believe they developed a method of producing something called Titanium before becoming a god, so they are rather smart."

She seems most amused by this about him talking about the gods and their egos, but it turns to curiosity about the others; 'Perhaps, if you visit again, I'd be most interested in hearing about these deities.' Although she has to ask... 'Who was the most insufferable deity you've come across? I mean... ego-wise.'

As for a visitor... she smiles softly. '... If you would do so, I'd be honored. I... don't get many visitors, and I have far fewer friends.' She seems, in that moment, a lonely person. Kabartmak's presence in some ways, soothes her, almost like a small creature would soothe a child. She is grateful for him taking the time to answer her curiosity as well and it shows by the way she looks to the fox.

The Library then warbles softly as if asking if Kabartmak needs anything else in regards to his doorway, and she tells Kabartmak as such; 'The Library wishes to know if you require anymore assistance with your portal. I don't think it's trying to rush you out, so much as sometimes the Library 'sleeps'. I've kept it up for the past few days, so...' She smiles softly in apology to which the Library warbles as if to say it's no problem -- for her, it never is.

The Library is very attached to its current Librarian, just as it was to its previous; her mother.

"So what's this library stuff about?" DOn't mind Ruby, she had poked her head in from somewhere, while looking at Ava. "Are you a librarian? You look like one."

Actually, Ruby doesn't get a direct response. She doesn't even seem to notice the girl is there. She just goes back to her filing away of books, the Library itself inclining its shelves down to Ruby in curiosity.

She had gotten in somehow. Was it the strong magic or was it her strong will? It was having trouble deciding, but the Library shelves warble and bounce a bit in a most animated fascination as if welcoming her. The way she handled herself and the fact she didn't act as a direct threat to its Librarian meant that found her presence comforting.

As for the Librarian...

It's not that she's ignoring Ruby, but simply Ava couldn't hear her. Being deaf, unfortunately, left that possibility in the open.

He would put his arms up to block most of the books after another one had hit him, and than he heard the low growl. Slowly he turned to see a creature he had no knowledge of. He had defensive spells he could activate quickly. They'd be weak and likely only save him from a single strike so it would be more to buy him time. And while he did not know this creature a growl was the universal sign of agitation. If this was more than a magical creature than he would need to be incredibly cautious. Though if there were no people around than he could drop his villainous act. After all, it was him, this grand place, and either the master of this place or it's guardian. But this creature wasn't humanoid. When far from others, or in the presence of non-human entities, he felt more comfortable letting the mask down for brief moments. "My sincerest apologies for my intrusion into this place, and my rude behavior in attempting to bind this place to myself. I should have been more patient upon arriving here. If it would please the both of you, and smooth over potential hostilities, I can offer one of many a variety of magical artifacts. Some from myths and legends, some more mundane, and some of my own creation. I could even create a tome of my spells complete with detailed instructions on how to learn each. Or a beastiary on the various kinds of creatures I have studied through my travels." This was a rare moment where he is being sincere. He was certain that this creature, and this place, were likely very powerful and could either expel him at any moment or kill him. So that fact that he still stood here

The low deep growling continues for a bit longer, eyes like pale suns observing him and his intent until, finally, the growling ceases but the rigid behavior remains. If this man is offering knowledge as tribute to the Library, he's not gonna say no to collecting it.

Slowly, ever so slowly, he moves forward until he's within touching range of this stranger and then, he waits.

From the hallway behind him then appears the Librarian; a woman of short stature, pale milky features, dress, light blonde hair in a ribbon, petite in appearance, black boots with a slight heel clacking against the flooring, she stops and jolts upon seeing this person.

Eyes like a wintry sky stop and observe him closely, then flick to the Mishipeshu and then to the Library itself which inclines its shelves down a bit and then back to the man. She says nothing. Does nothing. Just observes.

This man has the floor now.

"I have actually, although they tend to use their angels as messengers.. Mostly it was during spell creation though. They got a little worried when I began work on something I called Aspect of the Deity. It still isn't perfect, and only one god has agreed to work with me on it, but i'm sure the others might come around in time." He would mull over the thought of each world only having one god of fate.. That would make things so much easier. At least the Over-deities kept the lot of them in line so they don't try to force their choices onto fate. "There is also the newest god, Edgar the Raven, that I have spoken with. I mentioned before, he was the most recent to complete the trial of the Starstone. Unlike the others, he seems to be more fit to staying on or near the material plane. Not ascending to the outer realms and all that jazz."

Ava is curious, tilting her head slightly as she listens. 'If you gain more information on that, I'd be curious to know the results.' She concludes. The knowledge that as well there was a new deity of sorts in his world fascinated her.

'In the end, gods are people too.' She admits, seeing this from the lens of someone who has observed countless stories. 'They just sometimes have the biggest ego known to the universe.' She can think of one such case with a loud sigh.
