"You're a new face. Can I help you with something or are you selling something?" she inquired when she opened the door and came face to face with someone she had not met yet. As far as she knew, they weren't expecting any company as she was the only one home, but she could have easily been wrong.

Nik was in the bathroom, sitting on the floor looking dazed and upset as he stared down at the blood that stained his hands and the t-shirt and hoodie that lay in a crumpled heap by his feet in an abandoned attempt to get out of his clothes and clean himself up.

Ava had followed the scent of blood, not at all surprised to find Nik at the center of it, so to speak. Getting him cleaned up would be the easy part, she had plenty of practice with that, but if he was covered in blood, then that meant she needed to let Warren and Leon know.

“Can you tell me where, Nik? I need to know where to send cleanup so I can focus entirely on you.”

Gotham wasn't her usual city but one of her sisters had needed to be relocated for some reason or another, she hadn't bothered to ask, and it had left Ava to cover the city for a couple of days. Kat and Konis could, after all, handle her load in New York for the time being.

It was a pretty cut-and-dry crime scene, at least for her. Maybe anyone else would have found it strange, but it wasn't her job to consider those possibilities. She had been ready to leave when she caught sight of him and her curiosity got the best of her. He had been the last thing she expected to run into at a murder scene. After all, his kind was...uncommon at best.

"Hey, kid, you know you're not invisible right? That skulking around a crime scene might make you look guilty as shit?" She didn't think he was involved, but it was still good enough advice. "Take it from someone that's been arrested for hanging around crime scenes. Not the best place for a not quite dead kid to be."
