Distractions // Closed // Yoseob-luxlibertas
The past week had been kind of rough, and Ava really needed a distraction on her one day off or she would wallow in her heartache. This was like high school all over again except she didn't have Danny here to stroke her hair and tell her that she'd find someone right for her and that this guy wasn't worth being upset over. So instead, she wallowed in self pity when no one was looking, eating ice cream and watching P.S. I Love You and crying because the movie always made her cry. But after the third rerun of her favorite sad romantic film, she found herself wanting to do something. She remembered she had a friend who was a taxi driver, she wondered if he would mind just driving around with her. She hadn't any real place to go, she just wanted to go somewhere for an hour or two. She needed to get out of the house.
Ava called him up and told him she needed a taxi to somewhere and gave him her address and a time to pick her up. She got ready to go out, dressing in a pair of jeans and a hoodie that she had 'borrowed' from Danny in high school and simply never gave back. It reminded her of him and comforted her a little bit, as if he was there for her all the way across the world. She waited outside for the taxi for only a few minutes before he arrived and she slid into the back.
"I actually don't have anywhere I want to go but," she paused, "If you just drive around, I'll pay whatever the meter says in the end. I just need a bit of a distraction." She gave him a pleading look, "Please?"

Sweet Treats // Closed for Jaehyo - bellaetbestia
There was a time that Ava had told herself that she would stop drinking coffee, that time lasted about...ten minutes. It seemed Ava couldn't help herself when it came to warm coffee with steamed milk and a sweet pastry to accompany it. She found herself at the same coffeeshop again, smiling at Jaehyo behind the counter and telling him about her mountain load of studying she needed to do as she ordered. "Thanks," she said as she paid for the drink and pastry and then sat down where she had put her books, settling in for a long time of studying and coffee drinking. She pulled her legs under her as she read page after page about bones, and diseases, and infections for the class she had the next day. The class was having a guest lecturer and she needed to read all of this before the lecture so she would understand what the doctor was speaking about. She also had to read 100 pages about children's psychology and how to handle different moods while treating them.
After she had gone through the first seventy pages of her medical text, Ava sighed and sat back. Her coffee cup was empty and her plate was devoid of anything but crumbs and her mind had begun wandering. This was generally how she realized she needed to get up, walk around and get more coffee and food before diving back into her books. She sighed, stood up, and stretched her arms high above her head, trying to wake herself up a little. It wasn't that she was bored by the text, but it was a lot to read and take in and she needed a bit of a break. She grabbed her empty cup and plate and brought it to the counter, "Hey," she said, smiling at the man she thought she could call a friend. "Here's these and I'm gonna order something more because I have at least...three hours worth of studying left, probably more." She set the plate and cup on the counter and bent to look at the pastries in the case. "What's the best today? Other than the croissant, of course," she asked him the question because she couldn't decide. At least this way, he could narrow down her options. Ava couldn't help but have a huge sweet tooth, so decisions about what pastry to get were ones she didn't make easily.
Puppy?
Ava knew she'd been a bit rash, but when she'd met Piranha, she couldn't help but fall for the little puppy and Jinki's offer had just been too good to pass up. The man was letting the puppy stay at his place while Ava took her sweet time to convince her roommate that what they needed most in their apartment was a puppy. She had even bought the other girl a stuffed dog and sneakily placed it on her bed while she was out as a hint to what was to come.
Finally, Ava decided to broach the topic with her roommate and when the other girl walked in after a long day at school, Ava was sitting on the couch, waiting. "Estelle!" she called the other girl's name out and patted the seat next to her on the couch. "I have something to ask you," she said, thinking of Piranha's cute little face.
"Well, more like tell you because I've kind of already done it but that is neither here nor there..."
Yura + Ava // Coffebreak

The week had been exhausting for Ava, her mind had been so preoccupied with all that had happened over the last weekend that it wore her down to the bone. She didn't normally let herself overthink thing, she didn't like it, didn't like to dwell on things that hurt but this was different. She wished she didn't know, wished she could go back to being happier and ignorant but now when she's with him, she wonders if he's been with her as well. Thankfully Ava has friends to keep her mind busier, like helping Minho out with a gift for the girl he was wooing, and school helped keep her busy too.
The weekend was harder though, there was less to keep her mind busy, and more time to overthink things. So she had gone off into the city, exploring, getting lost and then finding her way again. After a bunch of walking around the city, she found herself in a cafe, drinking a sweet beverage and trying to think of what to do now. She was tucked into an arm chair, sipping her beverage when she saw a strangely familiar girl walk in.
She could've sworn the girl was Yura, the girl Minho was so crazy about. She had googled the girl's name after Minho had told her she was an idol simply to see what she looked like because Ava was curious. Ava hopped out of her chair and headed over to the girl, adjusting her hoodie over her jeans as she walked. "Hi, you're Yura right? Minho's Yura?" she asked, smiling. "I'm Ava, I was the one who sent the dress," she explained, her smile bright. Maybe the two girls would get to talking and Ava could keep her mind off of her troubles once more.

Ava had decided the rainy day was meant more for watching romantic movies while cuddling with her giant teddy bear on the couch than it was meant for actually doing anything. However, to properly enjoy a movie day (which she so desperately needed as she wasn't quite ready to face the world) she needed snacks, snacks that weren't the half empty jar of nutella in the cupboard. Grudgingly, she dressed for public consumption, throwing on a pair of jeans and her favorite Charleston hoodie and brushing her hair so it wasn't a mess of tangles.
After deeming herself fit for leaving the apartment, Ava headed out of the building and down the street to the closest convenience store. She piled her arms full with ramyun, samgak kimbab, and other snacks until she could barely see over them. She had no doubt there would be leftovers but she didn't really mind, it would just make it easier the next time she decided to stay in and gorge herself on movies.
Because she couldn't see over her stack of snacks, it wasn't a surprise that she ran into someone. "Ah no!" she mumbled to herself as everything fell to the floor, "Sorry," she said softly to the person whom she had walked into, bowing slightly before kneeling down to pick up her stuff.

After shadowing a pediatric doctor for the first half of the day, Ava was told she could go for the day. However, she didn't really want to go. She wanted to talk to the patients, wanted to see if she could help any of the more long term patients have a better day. She knew a lot of them were getting poked and prodded at and that had to ruin anyone's day, especially a child who might not understand why there are so many needles in their arm. It wasn't hard to see that Ava had a huge soft spot for children, and hoped to have a brood of her own children after she got married.
Although she knew she should probably go home and study or something, or even go get a bite to eat, she wanted to stick around for awhile. So she let herself into the play area for the patients and sat down to play dolls with a few of the younger girls. One of the girls had leukemia and felt quite self conscious about her bald head after pointing out Ava's long hair. Ava didn't know how to assure her that she was beautiful no matter whether she had long hair or no hair because young girls were very impressionable. She just didn't want to say the wrong thing, so she told the girl she was beautiful, inside and out, and then tied her own hair up into a messy bun to at least make it look silly so the girl wasn't as worried.
She sat there, playing with the girls and the dolls until they had to go get more tests and she stood up, getting ready to leave. Her stomach had begun to growl and she was kind of thinking about getting some kimbab. But just as she was leaving, a ten year old boy came in alone, and she didn't want to leave him to play alone, so she sat with him and they doodled.
