.... Well, getting smacked in the face with a giant cake was a thing that Minnie didn’t expect to happen to her. Not right now, anyways. 

For a moment, Minnie stood there, wiping the frosting off her face and mushed up lumps of cake off her body. She didn’t even get a chance to realize that the cake was accidentally thrown in her direction - she just thought it was simply bad luck that it had to happen to her, of all people-! When she heard the sounds of running feet approaching her quickly was when she looked up, noticing a girl frantically coming up to her with an apologetic look. 

It didn’t take long for her to piece things together - an empty box in the girls hand, the cake still dripping off of her, it must’ve been an accident! “You don’t need to apologize! I’m sure you must’ve tripped over something, it’s not like you meant to throw that at me...” She quickly said, before the girl could even get a chance to say anything to her.

It was hot.

And that was an understatement. The heatwave was intense, with most people sweating buckets upon buckets without end in sight. Naturally, such is not the case for one Leo Valdez, son of Hephaestus, god of fire. He’d never really been bothered by heat anyway, the ones exuded by fire always more of a comforting warmth as opposed to anyone else. This lead to him strolling around with only a few beads of sweat sticking to his forehead, little more than a common occurrence.

The news of a beach reaches his ears, and despite warnings, Leo has made it his mission to pay it a visit. 

Clad in palm tree shorts and a t-shirt, Leo Valdez has a purpose.

That purpose is fun.

Which eventually leads to his next course of action. He’s so focused on scanning the surroundings for the good stuff that he nearly crushes somebody’s sand castle, managing to draw a foot away before it smashes a tower like Godzilla. Hastily crab stepping away to avoid doing so again, eyes lock onto the individual it belongs to who seems to be returning from material gathering, which leads to a big grin slipping over his face.

“On a completely serious note, that is a pretty rad sand castle. But doesn’t it look generic? Almost kind of sad. You know what this baby needs?

Some extreme beach episode maintenance. And I’m just the guy to dish it out.”

「 He knew that it was only so long until he saw someone he knew. Or at least, someone he thought he knew. Even in this big a city, he’d seen enough faces in passing where he came from that he’d be able to place someone at some point. 

He just wasn’t expecting the first one he saw to be someone so close to him.

At first, he debates. The sight of someone tiny, red, and glowy manages to immediately perk him up, but he has no idea if it’s...the right one. Considering what he’s heard, Chase’s worries that if it’s the wrong one, she’ll be completely different from the one he knows. But on the other hand...

This is probably extremely stupid, but he’s never had the best judgement to begin with. One swift look left, another right, and then he finally detaches himself from the shadows and pauses a few feet behind her. He opens his mouth, shuts it, before finally gaining the nerve to speak with hands up in a surrender sort of gesture. 」
